🎶 The sky is so blue, in Malibuuuuu 🎶 -Miley Cyrus . I didn’t used to be much of a hiker and as a matter of fact after this specific hike in Malibu (which I was extremely unprepared for) I was dyinggg. Rory didn’t particularly love it either in the insane heat of the day with no cover at all from any trees, she just kept stopping to lay down literally trying to lay inside of bushes because there was no shade! . So when I decided I was going to start training to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (which for those of you who don’t know is a 4 day, 27 mile hike in Peru where you camp every night) a lot of my friends and family were a little bit surprised. I was even a little surprised at first 🙊 But I’m actually soo excited for it! I even had a mishap about 2 months ago where I had a massive gash in my leg, needed stitches, had to stop exercising for a full 6 weeks. I thought I might not have enough time to train and would have to bail on the hike and I was so bummed about it! . Fast forward to today and my leg is good to go! I’ve been starting to amp up my training although I still don’t think I’m quite ready for the trail... but it’s a process and the hike isn’t until early November so I still have a little time to really ramp it up! I got hiking boots which I’ve been breaking in and I’m going to Aspen next week to visit my cousin @natty_reif and we’re gona do some hikes there at altitude which will be great training as well! .
