ELIAS BARRAD & MALIK THOMAS ICC | SUMMER 106 ADD
Setting: Malik returns from the hallway after his chat with Regulus during the Bloodbath. Elias has been waiting and worried because he's a big softie like that.
Elias: Elias went to follow Malik when he left the suite, worried about what sort of trouble he might find for himself, but even more about the state of his hands after the visceral reaction to the happenings at the bloodbath. Satin, helpful as ever, suggested he give Malik some time, so Elias has busied himself preparing a salve in the kitchen. When he sees Malik come in he waves. "Come here and let me look at that hand so there aren't any new scars for Millie to worry over."
Malik: The conversation with Regulus has been surprisingly pleasant. While the older victor's words were not necessarily comforting, Malik appreciated the honesty. He came back to the suites a little calmer - albeit embarrassed. The cuts on his hands didn't necessarily hurt but he was ashamed of losing his cool like that, which was why he was going straight for his room when Elias called out to him. "Oh, man. Hey. You don't need to do that," the older of the two blushes slighly but walks to Elias regardless while chewing on the inside of his cheeks. "So what happened? With the fight?"
Elias: sighing, Elias holds his hand out expectantly for Malik's "I'm a healer, of course I have to do this," he reminds his friend as he looks over the damage. It isn't terrible, but a little salve can only help. He can't bring himself to look Malik in the eye as he begins to dab the concoction onto the cuts. "She... made a bargain. The older five. Her life for the kid. Still went out fighting. The cameras made some strange cuts, it was hard to follow, but the little one, he's alive. For now."
Malik: He avoids the eyes of his friend and the District One mentor but he gives his hands to Elias despite his embarrassment. Overall, dealing with the Hunger Games had become easier but there was something about these games... A sigh leaves Malik's lips as he frowns, not flinching as Elias applies the salve. "A bargain? That's... that's new. Fucking hell." A sigh leaves his lips as he finally looks into Elias's eyes. "...how are you doing? Are you and Satin.... are you guys doing okay?"

characters as mythology —> Malik Thomas & Aurelia Morandi as Hades & Persephone
Persephone always brings back a bouquet of roses when she returns, greets Hades with a long, drawn out kiss. She lets him bury his Godhead in her black spring locks while she dusts the soot off of him. [x]
Astrid Silveira & Malik Thomas ICC | 12 JUN 15
Astrid: -She'd just picked up Lachlan from her parents' to take him 'home' to the exceptionally humble little house halfway across town that she'd only moved into a couple of months ago--despite the protests of her mother, who still insisted that Astrid should come back to the mayoral estate. Pride had always gotten the best of Astrid though, and she's determined to prove herself as an adult and, most importantly, as a mother. She's carried her eighteen month old on her hip most of the way, but his squirming and her tiredness from working all day has her setting him to his feet to toddle beside her as they near the marketplace. Everything's fine until she sees a pretty necklace that catches her eye. Her eyes are only off of him for a few seconds, but when she looks back to where he'd been, he's nowhere to be seen... lost amongst the patrons coming and going on their way home from their own jobs.- Lachlan? -Trying to keep the panic from her voice as she scans the area.-
Malik Thomas: - For two months after the funeral of his young wife, Malik refused to leave home for any reason other than cemetery visits. Despite everyone telling him that time healed all wounds, the newest victory only felt that his days were getting harder. He didn't want to be around people and the only reason he even ends up finding himself in the market today is one of his best friends' birthday. Without Laila, the victor isn't sure that he could have gotten through the recent weeks so he's determined to get her something nice. Despite the heat, he's covered up from head to toe and he's nervous to make physical contact with anyone that passes him. He doesn't want recognition so he keeps his head low until he reached a jewelry stands but his brown eyes shoot up curiously for all the wrong reasons. It only takes him seconds to recognise Astrid and her panicked cries and he doesn't think twice before walking to her, his hand reaching out to gently touch her shoulder. - Is everything okay?
Astrid: -She jumps just slightly at the touch, but she turns to look up at Malik before she's pulling away to start pushing through the crowd of people.- Lachlan. He was right here. -Her eyes are pleading as she looks back to Malik, hoping that he follows. That he'll help.- He can't have gotten far, right?
Malik: - He blinks at first as his tired mind attempts to register what's going on. It takes him a second in his sleep deprived state but his eyebrows knot together when he realises just what Astrid is implying. - He's lost? - He blinks, raising his head and standing up tall for the first time in months. It may have been a while since he's seen Astrid but his worries for Lachlan haven't seized. In seconds, he's already overtaken Astrid and he weaves through the crowd of people, unable to spot the little boy. Finally, after what seems like hours when it's only been minutes, he hears crying by a pastry stand and he bolts towards it, his heart thumping in relief when he sees an elderly woman crouching and attempting to calm the scared little boy. - Astrid! Over here!
