“One thing that keeps me puzzled.. despite having studied finance and economics at the world's best universities, the following question remains unanswered: “Why is it that 5000 units of our currency is worth 1 unit of your currency, when we are the ones with the actual gold reserves? “It's quite evident that the aid is in fact not coming from the West to Africa, but from Africa to the Western world. The Western world depends on Africa in every possible way since alternative resources are scarce out here (in the West). “So how does the West insure the free aid keeps coming? “By systematically destabalizing the wealthiest African nations and their systems-- and all of that backed by huge PR campaigns; leaving the entire world under the impression that Africa is poor and dying, and merely surviving on the mercy of the West." LION BASE is a documentary that provides an intimate perspective at the the raw life in the streets of postwar Freetown, Sierra Leone documenting the life of 20 youth that were living under horrendous circumstances in a gutter called LION BASE.
I personally don't believe in charity, as it merely creates inferiority and dependency. I believe that empowerment by providing an individual with the right tools to make changes to their lives will enable positive long lasting change.

I'M POSSIBLE - Jewelry by Folorunsho
"Impossible is nothing! Possible is everything and anything unheard and unthought of for the mere fact that everything came into existence the very same way.... initiated by a simple thought.....the same incomprehensible way God created us....infinite, unlimited, amazing in his own image with the ability to create anything, cause everything and everybody is possible - I'm possible"
Mallence Bart- Williams is one of the Co-Founders of the K1XCollective pop up. Her I'M POSSIBLE Jewelry by her Folorunsho brand was inspired by a chance encounter on the streets of Jaipur in Rajastan, India one of the world's most impressive Kingdoms. A street kid educated her in one of the most profound ways, which became one of the most important lessons she learned in her life. She created this piece of jewelry to empower anybody that reads it with one word/sentence, that turns any limitation into infinite opportunities. The proceeds are used to empower street kids in Freetown to share their talent with by providing creative opportunities. It's not about charity-It's all about sharing- sharing ideas, knowledge, joy, pain and inspiration.
I'M POSSIBLE necklace and finger ring available at the K1X Collective boutique.
