#Blackwombenwhoinspireme I was on YouTube, getting my TEDTalks fix when I came across her talk. Mallence Bart-Williams, the heart-mind-soul behind an abundant way of eradicating poverty, unapologetically broke down Development as neo-colonialism and the continuing impact of colonialism on poverty in Africa. She held people, countries and institutions to account with hard driving truths. A graduate of some of the best universities In the world, she asked the questions the rest of us need to be asking about standard understandings of poverty and poverty eradication. While my heart beat in wild excitement to hear someone using such a massive platform to say things I had questioned my lecturers about, I could not believe what I was hearing. I had to watch it twice. She then talked about her alternative way of doing development and the amazing young artists she works with at #Folorunsho. We had to watch Black Panther for fierce role models who embody those Afrocentric principles of generosity and truth speaking but here is a loving and living real life example of #WakandaForever.
