“You need to know that you are the easiest choice I’ve ever made.”
I was sad to see there wasn't any Love and Other Conspiracies fanart around, so I made some. It's my new comfort book and I've been enjoying rereading it and looking for parts to illustrate.
This was my first try at Hallie and Hayden and (I have to admit) I Ike the sketch better. But I was drawn to this scene immediately on my first read and had to draw it. I'll probably give it another try, tbh.
Sketch under the cut!
I’m a romance girlie but only if it’s like, weird romance. Not really dark romance and not necessarily monster romance (though I do love the latter), but just like two weirdos following their beautifully weird life passions and then falling in love with each other’s weirdo ways. You know?
(If you’re into this, rec below!)
fav books i read in 2025: love and other conspiracies - mallory marlowe;
i love you so much, nonbeliever. and you should know that of all the ridiculous conspiracy theories and monsters i believe in? i believe in you the most.

If paranormal investigations, cryptids, and conspiracy theories are your favorite fixations, then believe me when I say that you’ll want to pick up Mallory Marlowe’s “Love and Other Conspiracies.”
The story follows Hallie, a video producer who has found herself ostracized at work after a bad breakup and who needs to find a new project to pitch to her boss. Enter Hayden, an easy-on-the eyes and articulate podcaster whose passion is all things paranormal. Despite being a massive skeptic, Hallie sees the potential of Hayden hosting his own show. After agreeing to film a pilot, it becomes very clear that Hayden needs a cohost – and that Hallie is the perfect Scully to his Moulder.
This is an incredibly fun little romance that balances zany paranormal antics (ghost hunting! Mothman! Big Foot! The Denver airport!), fandom, slow-burning chemistry, a kick of spice, and more serious emotional beats including toxic workplace relationships and grief.
I had an absolute blast reading this, and even though it technically isn’t set in the fall, it’s the perfect cozy addition to your spooky season TBR.👽👻

“What, I look good or something?”
“I don’t hate it that’s for sure.”
Here's another Love and Other Conspiracies fanart. My favorite parts of this book was when Hallie and Hayden were getting up to paranormal shit. I wish there was more!
Hayden, no glasses ❤️❤️❤️
