Fanwalker Update: Malmatiir
Grandpa dwarf time, motherfuckers!
- Originally from Cirn/ R/ Gay
- Malmatiir was the appointed royal blacksmith of several generations of Cirn rulers- dwarves being a long-lived race on the plane whose lifespans put elves to shame- and was well respected for his skills. He dutifully served multiple rulers, up until the apointing of Niirra, who he was quick to uncover had schemed her way onto the throne through murder and manipulation of the court. It wasn't until he was approached by the human captain of the guard, and fellow secret planeswalker, Rydiin, that he came to discover that Niirra wasn't an elf at all, but an angel in disguise, trying to get the people of Cirn to dig their way to the surface- and to their demise.
- Through the use of his unique skills, Malmatiir was able to perfect a certain type of magical weapon that could be used against an angel to kill them. However, before he could start mass reproducing such items, him and Rhydiin were sniffed out, and found their whole operation to save the people of Cirn in jeopardy. Rhydiin agreed to take the fall for them both, taking the single scythe they had developed and the blame while Malmatiir escaped the plane with his knowledge that Rhydiin insisted was much more valuable. Unfortunately, this would be the last time Malmatiir ever saw his dear friend.
- In truth, Malmatiir had fallen deeply in love with Rhydiin, but never got the chance to admit his feelings. All he could do, in the end, was make peace with them, when his paths crossed with Rhydiin's daughter, Alexandria, who weilded the scythe he had made specifically for him. With his guidance, she and her wife Lalia were able to defeat Niirra and save the people of Cirn from demise.
- Malmatiir keeps in close contact with Alexandria, keeping her in the loop as Cirn makes a slow, awkward transition to becoming a community run by the people instead of by a ruling class. He also is attempting to try and snuff out what appears to be a faction of cultists, who still worship Niirra and are trying to orchestrate her revival.
- Malmatiir is able to look into a person's heart, and fashion a weapon that suits them down to their very soul. A brand new weapon made my Malmatiir would feel like something you've used and grown comfortable with for years, even if you never even weilded a weapon before.
- Malmatiir is incredibly warm and friendly, easy to approach and and a delight to talk to. He loves telling stories he has collected over his many, many years of life, usually over drinks. Even as he reaches the ripe old age of 200, Malmatiir can out-drink pretty much anybody.
