— NOW PRESENTING: MALNATI CHATS !!

the malnati has opened their bar’s doors after curfew to allow their guests && staff to let loose after a long day with a special thing they’re going to call malnati chats. come in, grab a drink or some food, and let your mind unwind for a little bit. our resident bartender, jonny, will serve you whatever you’d like && will give an ear to whatever’s on your mind. malnati chats is going to serve as a way for our guests && staff to talk about whatever they need to confess, vent, or speak about. jonny will give you his perspective, along with some advice if you need it. got a crush you need to talk about ?? he’ll give you some advice on how to woo them. annoyed at your roommate for something they did ?? he’ll hear your frustrations. whatever’s on your mind, jonny will give you his two cents from a neutral point of view. so come on in && let jonny take care of you !! 

who: a npc named jonny && the people of the malnati

where: the malnati hotel’s bar, sometime after the sun goes down 

what: an interactive way for your character(s) to spill tea about what’s happening at the hotel && their thoughts or opinions about certain people && things

as an alternate to a gossip blog or confessions blog, our little malnati chats will happen every week on a wednesday night. the bar will open up && your characters can come in && talk about anything they need to get off their chest. how it’s going to work is that you’ll send an ask in character about what your character would like to have from the bar && something they have on their mind such as something they saw at the hotel, who they’ve been hooking up with, or anything else they’d like to share with jonny. once we get your ask, jonny will serve your character whatever your character asked for && say his own thoughts on what your character shared with him. if you have more than one muse, all you have to do is specify what muse you’re wanting jonny to talk to. this is a space to get personal && have your character share whatever they have on their mind. when we start malnati chats, we’ll send out a post on this blog && that’s when your characters will be able to share whatever they need to. 

threads listed as ‘private’ and text messages are not game for the malnati chats unless it’s coming from your own character that is involved in the threads or texts. with that in mind, we’ll allow public threads, social media posts and whatnot to be fair game to be talked about by others, and any meme monday answers your character gives can also be used for the malnati chats. 

along with that, never send anything that’s considered to be too harsh against any character. this is suppose to be an added fun thing to the media blog, so anything that we consider to be too mean or rude will be deleted. we’re sure we’ll never run into that problem since most of the asks we expect to get will be off anon, but we just wanted to give you all a heads up. we’d love for your characters to stir the pot && spread some rumors with jonny, but it’s meant to be something that keeps the group interesting && lighthearted. the most important thing to keep in mind is tha you guys are responsible for what jonny hears. as admins, we may throw a little in here && there with jonny, but we can’t know everything that happens on the dash which is why having your characters talk about what’s happening in their lives is the perfect way to keep everyone in the loop. so please keep that in mind. if you have any other questions regarding our new malnati chats, let us know !! we’re looking forward to see how you guys enjoy this new game && the character development that’s bound to happen.

— hello my friends !! i have missed all of you dearly and i hope that everyone’s taking care of themselves since the new year. we’ve been a bit bogged down personally over here at malnati headquarters but we’re looking forward to throwing ourselves back into this happy home this week !! there’re going to be some changes coming, which we think will be fun && fresh, and we’ll keep everyone updated as we state to announce things !! we’ll be back in full effect and ready with a whole lot of writing, character development, tasks, and events to get us back into the spirit and magic that is our group !! thank you all for being so wonderful, and patient, and truly being our family. 2020 would not have been possible for me, and i think nessa can say the same, without all of you incredible people and i just wanna share so much love with y’all right now !! here’s to celebrating our one year in a couple of months && everything that’s still to come for our crazy kiddos at the malnati hotel !!

HAPPY SIX MONTHS, MALNATI!

wow, a whole half a year ... this is going to be quite the love note from us to y’all, our malnati family !! in many ways, this six month celebration is coming at the most beautiful time, for no matter how long nessa && i have been doing this together, we still always get so emotional over these sorts of milestones. we know that this year has truly tested us all, and it’s been one thing after the next, but this space and group has kept us sane, and has brought us so much joy, fulfillment, and stability. when i say that this group, and by extension all of you, have kept us afloat ... i truly do mean it. both of us have experienced a loss in our household this year, and while it’s tested us in more ways than we could’ve ever imagined, this group has just been such a constant, and filled with love and laughter when we needed it most ( oof a pinterest wall art quote if i’ve ever seen one aldkfjla ). all we can hope for is that being apart of this family has felt similarly to you, too. we admin this group for our own creativity and passion, of course, but also because all of you have made it such an incredible experience. you are all the most wonderful group of writers && people that we’ve ever gotten to meet. getting to know each of you, and meeting your muses and seeing them grow ... it’s meant the world to us. and celebrating these character milestones too, like graduations, weddings, aspirations and siblinghoods ... along with some more exciting milestones we’ve got coming soon too ... wow !! it’s been incredible and i have never been apart of a group that’s gotten to do so much in these six months, with people that i think we can all truly call our chosen fam. 

and from our perspective, this is only the beginning !! we have some things planned through to the end of the year && there’s so many other fun and creative things coming that’s going to bring all of us closer and truly we cannot wait to experience it all with you amazing people !! and this includes some in character, but also out of character, surprises !! because we love getting to know all of you and spend more time together just as much as we get excited to see your muses evolve and develop, too. hopefully, you all are going to be along for the ride with us !! this group is truly a family, and we feel so blessed to have been the one you stumbled upon and decided to make the malnati your muse’s home, as well as yours. and that goes for all of our members, past and present, because we would never be where we are today without all of you.

so here’s to another six months, malnati family !! we will be here for as long as we can be, for as long as you’ll have us, through thick and thin, just writing and crying together. and soon enough, nikki’s marvelous malnati coasters will be available && i know she’ll be dropping her venmo  so we can all thank her properly !! i mean, what other group do you know of that has merch ?! wow - we really are one of the bests, like y’all did that !! oh my, okay, before this novel gets another chapter written ... thank you all for being here, for those who have helped us get here, and cheers to another six months !!

— MALNATI UPDATE!

alrighty friends !! it’s about that time where we rollout another one of our updates && we’re  rather excited for this one !! truly, we wouldn’t be able to do all of these fun things without all of you wonderful members and we couldn’t be more grateful !! that being said, we hope that you’re as excited for all of the new additions in this update as we are !! there’re also some housekeeping things towards the end that we just wanna remind everyone of, and it’s really important to read that section !! okay, i’m starting to ramble, so let’s get on with it:

NEW SUITES: we never imagined in our wildest dreams that we’d be able to run a group of this size, and we are so honored to do so !! with that being said, this will most likely be our final expansion for the malnati hotel as we introduce: FOUR NEW GUEST SUITES. we added new staff suites with the pet daycare plot drop, and we figured we may as well even it out for the guests just for the fun of it. we can now add up to eight new muses to our group, and that is likely as large as we’ll ever be !! we are so thankful for all of you wonderful people for being a part of this group and allowing it to be as grand as it is. we admins never thought we’d get to steer a ship with this many characters and muns, and we’re just so lucky and happy to do it !!

JULY 19th: mark your calendars, y’all !! this is like, an announcement for the announcement, but we did want to get everyone pumped up for something very fun that we have coming this sunday !! an event may or may not be in the works, and there may or may not be some vague emoji reveals coming soon enough as hints for what it just might be... we don’t want to give too much away, but it should be a hoppin’ good time !!

DIVERSITY: as it’s always been, diversity is really important to us, and we’ve been thinking about ways to make this group even better in terms of its diversity. we are updating this post because we did think that a diversity rule would be helpful, but we now have realized thanks to our members who shared their thoughts that it wasn’t the way to go about it and could possibly lead to more harm than good and feel restrictive. we made a mistake, even if our intentions were good, and we truly do see that now and we apologize to all of you for that from the bottom of our hearts. instead of any rule, we are just going to strongly encourage people to take on more diverse muses so long as we as muns feel as though we can and want to. we don’t want to force anyone into writing characters they can not genuinely create, but we’re just encouraging of playing more muses of color, trans and nb muses, body-positive and disabled muses. of course, guides can only help us so much and have their own limitations, but we will be adding links to guides and resources to help educate us to play these characters on the main soon. this is only an encouragement, a suggestion, so please do not feel forced to do anything you are not comfortable with or confident in when it comes to our group. we are here to celebrate diverse muses always, but we do want to make sure moving forward that it’s happening in a way that we feel good about !!

HOUSEKEEPING: now onto the lesser fun stuff: activity && bubble rping. we just wanna talk activity for a sec and remind anyone who may need a semi hiatus or a hiatus ( now or ever ) to please just reach on out to us and ask !! we are always willing to work with you and whatever’s going on to make sure that the group is one less thing you gotta stress about !! we’re super lax and understanding, but for those who may repeatedly pop-up on our activity checks, we will have to start using our strike system and we really do want to avoid that !! we’re also always glad to see everyone interactive && active in the group chat, but being active on the dash is even more important for the success of the group && we really wanna stress that !! we’re not asking everyone to be on the dash every single day, but it’s important to pop in and do some writing both ic and ooc. in terms of bubble rping, this is also something that we have been noticing as of late, and we just wanna touch on that for a moment. we absolutely understand that it can be easier to crank out replies to those established connections or threads we have a lot of muse for, but we are a group rp and it’s really important to both each other as well as our characters that we branch out of those, too !! it’s the only way for this group to shine, and we all very much deserve that cause we really are such a wonderful little rp fam !! there are plenty of open starters and plotting calls to help make it easier to branch out and write with muses and muns that maybe you haven’t yet, and we will continue to do all that we can to help out, too !! you can defs expect more partner tasks && events in the future !! but we also need everyone’s help to make this space as welcoming and inclusive as we know it can be so that no one feels left out, so please consider this a gentle reminder to step outside of any bubble you may potentially be in and write / plot with other muns and muses !! even if it wasn’t a raging, roaring ‘success’ the first time around, why not reach back out and give it another go !! moving forward, for those we continue to see bubble rping, we will have to use our strike system and like we said, we always wanna avoid that !!
