@skekmal-hunter
Hope you like this!
He never really wanted to stop him from going into the woods, hunt on those animals, bath in those streams, rest in this cave of his (even knowing that from him, it seemed too private, when that cursed urru was involved - urVa was making his back crawl).
He never wanted to bind him, shackle him to his throne, order him to stay.
He wanted so many things, so many things, which still were untold, and which appeared in both his dreams and nightmares. Frenetically tormenting him to speak up.
But one thing he wanted the most, which held him on his own leash.
Do not change.
Do not become like them.
You are only thing that still makes sense.
He wasn't a loyal subject.
He would call himself loyal, yes, but never a subject.
He was never ready at every move of Emperor's finger, he would not bow low before him. He would not seek for his grace and his attention, not in a way skekSo's court did.
But he could offer strong arm to the Emperor, in times when he needed, and an advice not stained by lie... ... and skekSo could trust that Hunter will never endanger his position, nor throne.
He was that. A Hunter. He hunted, not ruled. And that was the thing that made them drift towards each other, at the beginning.
The understanding and passion did the rest.
