the smallest, fastest and stupidest looking local cantharids are these little cartoon alien looking things, Malthinus. despite being very shy creatures and barely bigger than a well-fed springtail, they are very easy to find during spring, practically poking their heads out of every nearby leaf. photographing said heads is a different story
