For the OOC week of Wednesday 8th February - Sunday 12th February, the IN CHARACTER DATE is now MONDAY, 20TH FEBRUARY - FRIDAY 24TH FEBRUARY.

THIS WEEK:

No specifically scheduled events nor birthdays. However, both Quidditch teams have practice sessions booked. There are rumours that Gryffindor has also booked the Pitch on several days simply to ensure neither Ravenclaw nor Slytherin can get it, though Fifth Years aren’t always the most reliable sources of information.

UPCOMING:

On Saturday 25th (the upcoming weekend), Ravenclaw vs Slytherin Quidditch match will be occurring! Given Slytherin’s surprisingly strong start despite their lack of win in their first game of the season, as well as their new strategies in place, and Ravenclaw’s incredibly well-oiled and driven team, it should definitely be an interesting match. Rumour has it, Ravenclaw Tower is the spot to be if you have a bet to place…

HELLO STUDENTS!

  It is my pleasure to announce that any student in Third Year or higher with a valid signature from their parent or guardian will be able to visit Hogsmeade February 18th. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather—despite the deceptive sunlight, the winds themselves will be quite chilly, as Scotland tends to be in February, and snow is thick on the ground.

  Given that Valentine’s Day has just passed, this weekend would be the perfect time to accompany any sweetheart you may have acquired to the lovely village of Hogsmeade. There are also rumours of celebrations to be found in The Three Broomsticks—alongside a cider and a smile from the lovely Madam Rosmerta—hosted by several members of Ravenclaw house, in celebration of the recent birthday of Xenophilius Lovegood and the upcoming (the very day after Hogsmeade, in fact!) birthday of Hestia Jones. Make sure to stop by to partake in celebrations and to send your birthday wishes to the two!

  Other activities include Zonko’s Joke Shop (just be careful who you hit with those dungbombs), Honeydukes (perfect for growing your collection of Chocolate Frog cards), Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop (a lovely romantic spot for you and that special someone - or just a place for some delicious tea), Dervish & Banges (I know you lot can be clumsy, and they’re great at repairs) and The Shrieking Shack (if you’re feeling particularly brave).

  So mark your calendars, and have a great time!

You may begin writing Hogsmeade weekend threads from today! The weekend will extend over the course of this ooc week, as per the date change post indicated, and the rest of the week will occur next week, ooc.

For the OOC week of Monday 30th January - Sunday 5th February, the IN CHARACTER DATE is now SATURDAY, 18TH FEBRUARY - SUNDAY 19TH FEBRUARY.

NOTE: We have elected to have the Hogsmeade weekend extend for an entire ooc week, and the remainder of the week up until the Quidditch match will take place next ooc week.

THIS WEEK:

Saturday 18th // Hogsmeade Weekend visit for third years and above with the appropriate permission. NOTE, this is the Hogsmeade weekend directly following and associated with both Valentines Day and Xenophilius Lovegood’s birthday, so if anyone has a date or wants to buy him a birthday drink, please keep that in mind! It is also the day directly preceding Hestia Jones’ birthday.

UPCOMING:

UPCOMING THIS MONTH will be VALENTINE’S DAY (Tuesday 14th, coinciding with Xenophilius Lovegood’s 17th birthday), a HOGSMEADE WEEKEND VISIT in honour of Valentines Day (Saturday 18th) and the RAVENCLAW VS. SLYTHERIN Quidditch match (Saturday 25th).

For the OOC week of Monday 12th September - Sunday 18th September, the in character date is now Saturday, 10th December - Friday 16th December.

This week, coming up:

Tuesday, Dec 13th // Jewish students that returned home in order to celebrate Hanukkah with their families last week return today, including Remus Lupin.

NOTE: Winter holidays are coming up! Final classes of the term take place on Tuesday, 20th of December and the students who wish to leave the castle for the holidays will travel on the Hogwarts Express on Wednesday, 21st of December. They will be returning two weeks later, on Wednesday, 3rd of January, starting second term on Thursday, 4th of January.

The date change system will work differently in the holidays, in order to extend the holiday season—ooc, anyway—and because of an upcoming event, and more information will come about that soon!

Note, Christmas holidays are coming up! Throughout this week, they will be two to three weeks away (departing from Hogwarts around the 21st/22nd mark, last day of classes being the 20th/21st—full date and info announcement coming soon), and characters may be making plans about their Christmas break.
