big gay tiefling paladin
Oh wild. I mean, I guess I could’ve called the tiefling bit, love tieflings so much. But I’m super curious about the paladin part.
sahiim!!! tell me abt that beautiful arms horse
Full Name: Sahiim (for the moment, I got ideas for a family name but they’re not solidified yet)
Gender and Sexuality: Female/Leaning towards straight
Pronouns: She, her
Ethnicity/Species: Sahiim is a lich, specifically Raasi which makes her a greater lich in Desik. Before that, she used to be human.
Birthplace and Birthdate: before becoming a lich, Sahiim was born in Desik, about two centuries or so before the events that lead her to meet Primus.
Guilty Pleasures: Oh boy she has a bunch since she met up with Primus. She has memories from when she used to be alive, so she likes to indulge in those the most. Though she doesn’t really feel guilty about them, its more of a “Holy shit I have not seen/smelled/tasted/felt these in forever, let me enjoy myself.” Her favorites tend to be hot, spicy food, smoking (she picked that up from hanging around Primus, its more of a recent one), wine, and wearing bright, vibrant colors. Her trail tack is a little of a reflection of this, since she picked it out. When it comes to food and drink, she doesn’t always indulge by ingesting them, sometimes she will just take a deep breath and enjoy the smell.
Sahiim also used to be a major bookworm when she was alive, and so she likes to pick up reading material from time to time. It would not be surprising if part of the stuff in her bags are some books she liked enough to pick up.
Phobias: She’s got one that’s pretty complicated. Raasi tend to be partnered with Gatekeepers to guard the Ether, which in universe is the bridging ground between the lands of the living and dead. A Raasi cannot be without a Gatekeeper, and usually what happens if the gatekeeper goes missing or manages to be killed is that the Raasi must immediately find another one, if they do not they will be tracked down and destroyed. Primus went and punched her Gatekeeper out of existence so far as she knows, but she does not want to return to the Ether since she’s pretty disillusioned with her task and would rather stay in the world of the living. So she’s deeply worried about being caught, tried, and inevitably sentenced to a final death.
As a lesser phobia, she is deeply uncomfortable with being separated from her host body. Sahiim can survive outside of having a physical body, but a body acts as a conduit through which she can wield most of her power, and it makes her less vulnerable to being captured or sealed within a vessel.
Otherwise Sahiim is not really afraid of much.
What They Would Be Famous For:
Probably Sahiim would be famous for being one of the very, very few Raasi to successfully escape from her Gatekeeper. Alternately, she would hold the title for holding the most sharp objects at once or scaring the pants off of the most people who expect her to just be a dumb zombie thrall.
What They Would Get Arrested For:She’s already on the run for having decided to stay in the world of the living instead of returning to the Ether to resume her endless task of guard duty. Otherwise there would be attempts for arrest due to Sahiim being too good at brawling or yeeting people who cross her into the sun with her ghostly anchor arms.
OC You Ship Them With:I’ve been hesitant to ship her with anyone! I like the thought of having a character who just wants to do their own thing after having been under the whim of another entity for so long. But with that said, I could see her start to develop a fondness for Primus after a while.
OC Most Likely To Murder Them:All the Gatekeepers and her fellow Raasi. No one leaves Ether guard duty, ever.
Favorite Movie/Book Genre:A lot of books in Desik are fables, religious texts, historical books, or stuff regarding advances in sciences/magic. I could see her enjoying reading stuff that’s more educational, maybe reports detailing new advances in magical applications. She also would be interested in books regarding history to see what she missed. Though after she’s all caught up, Sahiim probably would like a good fable or epic poem.
Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche:She’s not much for romance genres or tragedies.
Talents and/or Powers:Oh boy, well she is a greater lich; that allows her to jump between the planes of the living, the dead, and the space inbetween without having to leave her physical form. She can raise the dead, summon spirits to fight at her side, and there’s also the ghostly limbs she can conjure which can lift nearly whatever she wants, so long as it is within reason (she’s not going to lift massive buildings or wrestle dragons several times her size anytime soon, but she could tip up the side of a small house). She also knows quite a few methods to hide in plain sight, whether its dampening her aura to make it difficult to detect her through supernatural means ( see, evading gatekeepers), or straight up conjuring a disguise to fit over her host body. Usually she tends to just throw some long sheets over herself and masquerades as a very big horse, since conjuring a complex disguise like say, a human form, throws off a lot of energy that can be tracked. She also is fairly good at tracking supernatural entities and navigating through use of these spirit road things that I have yet to nail down completely. Essentially the Ether overlaps the living world a little and there are paths that spiderweb all over the world that mark where it does, ghosts, demons, and wayward spirits tend to travel them to pass on to the afterlife, and they can be used like a map for those who know how.
She also can do some weird telepathy stuff and implant thoughts into another person’s head.
Why Someone Might Love Them: Despite her undead nature she actually does long for some form of friendship or socialization after being stuck out in the Ether for so long, and tends to have a lot of neat stories to tell about her job. She has a pretty stable moral compass, and she’s protective of the few friends she makes. Sahiim also tends to be emotionally intelligent, and capable of empathy, especially for those who have gone through a lot of rough times in their life. She’ll happily act as a shoulder to cry on while assuring that everything will end up alright.
Outside of that, Sahiim might be pretty neat to hang around as a reading buddy. If she can find someone that reads the same stuff she does, she would likely enjoy discussing them. She also is pretty laid back and easy to be around so long as her company isn’t shady. Sahiim refuses to humor anyone who seems like they just want to cause trouble.
She also has a habit for wanting to stick her nose in trouble though, whether its seeking out illicit activity or exposing someone shady for what they are. She loves getting to the bottom of these matters and ensuring whoever is involved finds justice, usually in her own sort of fashion.
Why Someone Might Hate Them:Though she likes companionship, she’s not much of a talker. Or at the very least, she does not talk unless she is certain that what she is saying is correct or a good response to the topic at hand. Sahiim prefers to be traveling instead of staying in one place, and she gets restless if she is around the same surroundings for too long. While she is happy to listen to others problems, she is not much for delving into her own, and so she is sort of distant in the way she may not be completely honest about what she is feeling or thinking about a certain situation.
When it comes to confrontations or exposing shady activity, she can become too dogged in her task and will refuse to take a break from it. It can lead to her going in circles at some points and being too stubborn to realize when it is time to step back and take a break. Mostly this is due to her absolutely despising the idea that anyone could have an advantage over her, or managing to “win” in being able to evade or outsmart her. She also can get obsessive about an adversary to the point where it seems like its the only thing she cares about, until she manages to defeat them or find some other sense of justice for their actions. I figure she also has a bad habit of not letting anyone help her with these investigations since she feels like the extra help would slow her down when in actuality they could provide a fresh look to a situation.
Sahiim tends to think she is nigh invulnerable to most situations due to her state of being. So she tends to take more risks than may be healthy. It also can become insufferable when she decides that she needs to act in the stead of someone weaker than her during a confrontation (read, mortal), and they should sit on the sidelines regardless of their experience or ability to handle themselves.
How They Change:There’s not a whole lot about her that changes, at least at this point. Though she likely would become a bit less obsessive about taking down bad guys over time, and allowing herself to listen to the input of another person. Also she probably would stop talking down to the living and letting them just do their thing instead of stepping in whenever a serious confrontation arises. You know, just simple lessons and changes towards humility and letting herself be a bit vulnerable.
Why You Love Them:I’ve been a bit attached to Sahiim for a while, since she started as a regular old undead horse NPC for a character I was RPing when I used to be part of a forum community. Probably people who have been following me long enough may have remembered a time when she was called Samhain. I didn’t want to scrap her after I left, since I already really liked her design and personality. Mostly I’ve been building on her for the past few years and making tweaks to her to better fit into the headworld that I already have. I pretty much made Desik just so she could have a place to run around in and adventure, and Primus sort of acts as a stand-in to the character she had been made for( again, tweaked to better fit with the environment and universe that their story takes place in), since the character I had played was not really mine and I didn’t want to carry on stuff with a canon character.
Outside of that I love her because I’m proud of how far she’s been developed, and she’s really started to become a unique character outside of just a loyal undead steed to an undead rider. I also like having lich characters that are not what someone would initially expect to be a lich.
If anyone wants to know about my characters, I’m taking prompts from this thing here.
does aubrey think vampires are sexy?
“I mean, not as a rule? Some are and some aren’t, like anyone else.”
