Growing up, all the women around me used to always tell me things that at the time made no sense to me. When the time was right (often when I was in trouble), I used to start my excuses with "My momma said..." Reading "The Little Black Book of Success: Law of Leadership for Black Women," I am rediscovering those little sayings. It is important to remember those teachings from your childhood because they always seen to come in hand later. Here are just a few that were at the end of chapter one. "Nothing worth having comes easy." "You have to work twice as hard as everyone else to get anywhere." "You are worthy & deserving of having the best of everything." "Make yourself number one." "If you don't take care of you first, no one else will." Today, these sayings mean more to me than they ever have. These sayings will definitely get any person, but especially a woman who understands the history & context of these sayings a long way. the musing continues...
