Mothers intuition is quite the thing.

When he angrily left the last time he had forgotten his keys. Since he had forgotten his keys he never came back home, until today. 

Knock. Knock.

"sure, it ain't by blood or anything, but... you found a pretty good family here, didn't you?"

         “…”

        {/She tried so hard not to express her jealousy. So hard to suppress all the negative feelings she was harboring, and to just instead be cheerful for her friend.

          He found his mom.

          He got to be reunited with his most precious person. Asahina had to stand there and watch them hug it out like one of the most loving families in the world. And yet…when she was looking for her own reconciliation, a reunion with her precious little brother…she got none. Hearing that Hagakure Hiroko had come straight from Towa City, she had hope. Hope that her brother would follow along soon enough.

          Instead she had to hear it from Touko and from Naegi’s sister that her own brother had perished. That both Touko and Komaru witnessed him in his last moments. That he had tried to do what he can to help get both of the girls out of the city. 

          He was a good kid, and he was always a good kid. Had always been a good kid.

          But she couldn’t hide her feelings. Asahina had always been one to wear her heart on her sleeve, and she was on the verge of tears watching Hagakure get his mom back, and watching Naegi converse with his sister. Even Touko found her bug. But…what did Asahina get?

          Her chest hurt.

          Her heart hurt.

          She wanted so badly to scream and cry and just give up, because she failed the one person she was supposed to protect with her life.

          Hiroko’s words didn’t make her feel any better. Not in the slightest. She would come around eventually, but she just had to get over the shock of everyone getting someone back, except her.}

         “…Yeah, I guess.”
