The new @mamarugababy Zen Sling landed in the library a couple of days ago, we're having a play! I've met Kati and her husband at a few shows now and we have one of their gorgeous Poppy wraps in the library. This Zen Sling is very clever and very comfortable. It's made of a semi stretchy fabric carefully sewn on both biases to avoid sagging, and has spreadable crossable shoulder straps (which don't ride up). It feels really lovely to wear. It's adaptable in sizing as the ladder locks on the panel allow the wearer to alter the shape, encouraging and supporting the natural curve of the spine and the M shape and also controlling the height for taller babies. The width of the panel can be narrowed for small babies and widened for older ones. This makes it suitable from newborn up to toddlerhood. For back carries this needs the straps to cross over in a twist at the front (which is more common in Europe) and is reminiscent of many wrap finishes, meaning you don't get digging under the arms. It does take a little practice to do easily. We think this will be popular with our library users looking for alternatives to the old favourites such as stretchy wraps.... #sheffieldslingsurgery #mamaruga #zensling #newborn #babywearing #carrythem #wearallthebabies #slingsinsheffield #slinglibrary
