Legend of Mana Playstation 1999
A post for my compilation of the different backgrounds of the Mana Tree!
Starting with the entrance area:
Oh and I apparently recorded this little clip of walking up the path and it just feels so cinematic.
The inner area with mushroom platforms:
The outer area before the Sanctuary proper:
I want to lay my hands on Legend of Mana's background art and just absorb its beauty. The sort of detailed but not crowded look, and everything still looks so dreamy?
The entryway to the Sanctuary:
I can only add one video clip per post, so sadly I can't show that there the light rays here actually shift in game.
And the Sanctuary itself, in which you're required to defeat all monsters in every area:
Kind of interesting that the stone pillars for these platforms also have a mushroom design, and the little central post/figure also seems to have a mushroom cap or eggshell on top.
And of course, the final boss area!
The game just transports you here once you're done with the Sanctuary, and I'm pretty sure when you are, you're actually allowed to use the pause menu to prepare yourself, though the game itself doesn't tell you. But take one step closer, and the Mana Goddess give her intro speech and it's straight into the fight from there.
The moon slowly being eclipsed in the background still gives me chills, it's just an amazing atmosphere.
Here's how it looks with the moon fully eclipsed and when Mana Goddess shows the special form that only appears for this attack.
There's also these two scenes featuring the Mana tree, in the intro and then the end screen.
I think that's all I have, not including how the Mana Tree looks on the map, but I think I'll make another post for it so I can include the clip of the artifact turning into the location.
Yggdrasil's Swamplands. Heavily inspired illustration by the Secret of Mana illustration of the Mana Tree. Markers, ink and Poscas on paper.
Made some more art today! Happy with how it turned out <3

Sword of Mana (Hero and Heroine) by Mast3r-Rainb0w
I’ve recently been trying out the Mana series. Just beat Sword of Mana, so I decided to make fanart for it. Yes it’s an OLD game by today’s standards, but I had to start somewhere! Enjoy the fanart, nonetheless! ;)
