The Old City

I will be traveling through the Southeast to bring you the yummy goodness!  I am currently visiting in Saint Augustine, Florida (the oldest city in the nation) and also one of my favorite places in the state of Florida!  The city is home to the Fountain of Youth, and the old Fort Castillo De San Marcos among other historical sites.  As a previous resident in this adorable town by the sea with it's old cobblestone drives and seasonal night of lights, I have come to find many great organic eatery's!  To name a few are the Present Moment Cafe (Raw and Vegan), Casa Maya (Organic Mayan Cuisine), Manatee Cafe, and The Floridan.

Yvette at the Present Moment Cafe makes an award winning Raw Pad Thai, with Sea Kelp Noodles, red bell peppers, curried cashews, and an incredible creamy nut sauce!  For dessert I never pass up the Raw Cacao brownie with Vanilla Cashew ice cream, Bing cherries, and Cacao syrup.  For an on-the-go energy booster I suggest "The Universe," the PMC Raw cacao smoothie, with maca, goji berries, banana, and fresh coconut water! 

Karla and Marco have had the Casa Maya for nearly six years now, and are well known for there fresh ingredients and Authentic plates.  There small cafe downtown across from the harbor was getting flooded with more and more business as a result they moved location to a beautiful old home, and reconstructed it for there new restaurant.  My favorite plates here are the Huevos rancheros, with both salsa verde y rojo.  As well as the Cochinita Pibil platter and Bacalar Tempeh veggie wrap.  Guacamole with habenero sauce is a must for starters if you like HEAT!
