Hi mod, why is diopucci blacklisted? Dont get me wrong i am just curious

Okay so, I’m going to give this the benefit of the doubt because a lot of people get their exposure to Pucci through Eyes of Heaven and/or only read part 6 once, so maybe your translation just didn’t mention it but here we go. This will contain some part 6 spoilers, so if this is the case, just read Part 6.

Dio was at LEAST 20 (I dunno how you want to look at coffin years) when he met Pucci, who was 15. 

If you’re one of those people who thinks age gaps aren’t a problem because maybe you’re too young to see the impact they can have on a couple (I used to be with you on that one) allow me to put this in perspective-

He was one year older than Lucy Steel, 

He was the same age as Kakyoin (one year younger when he actually met Dio)

He would have maybe been entering sophomore year of High School

On top of that age- Dio literally convinced Pucci that he was God and had the ability to resurrect his dead sister in a new world he wanted Pucci to help him build under false pretenses.

"But they could have waited until Pucci was 18!”

So- ignoring the plausibility that a fifteen year old church kid who now literally thinks that Dio is God could be groomed by him, which would still not be a good relationship to be in- SDC and Dio’s death happen in 1989, two years after Dio met Pucci, and we know from supplementary materials that they didn’t meet each other in that final year. So, at most, Pucci was 16.

“But Dio still really did care about Pucci and trusted him!”

Where? Was it when he-

Didn’t tell him about his plan to summon the Green Baby? (Pucci had to read it in Jotaro’s memories, so I don’t even know where people pull this one from.)

Gave him a bone from Jonathan’s body, that he obviously didn’t care about because he is seen burning Jonathan's fingers, clawing at his torso, doesn’t bat an eye when a leg gets ripped off.

Didn’t tell him the body wasn’t his? (When Pucci goes to Sports Maxx, he thinks he’s about to summon Dio’s ghost into the room- not Jonathan’s)

Didn’t mention him once in his journal? (If he HAD- Jotaro would have been able to find him. 

Wow- What a caring relationship built on equality and trust!

Also, to those of you still unconvinced, why do you want to ship this so bad? Why are you willing to ignore EVERYTHING ELSE on this post? I’m not saying everyone who ships this is “cancelled,” or that you’re inherently a bad person- Is it because a priest and a vampire is an attractive concept? Because- ho boy- *Looks at my Vamp!Jotaro and Pucci AU* there are ways to get that without supporting such a plainly awful pairing!!!

Is there something I’m missing here???? I don’t see it.

okay, wait. What's the difference between shipping DioPucci in an AU where they didn't meet when he was 15 and shipping Pucci/Vampire Jotaro when in canon, they were enemies and he killed him? if we're bending canon, we can bend canon completely, like.. I'm genuinely curious what the difference is there

I’m so genuinely glad that you asked!

The problems with Dio and Pucci include grooming, manipulation, and an overall narrative of Dio pretending to like Pucci- pretending that he trusted him and convincing a 15 year old in probably the BIGGEST low of his life that yes, it was his fault that his sister died, and yes it was his fault that these terrible things happened, but that Dio could make it better.

The conflict between the two of them lies in the fact that Pucci never knew Dio at all and Dio never cared enough about Pucci to WANT to know him. If you have an AU where you ship these two in a healthy, functioning relationship, they could not be themselves. It would just be a guy named Dio and a guy named Enrico and... I guess they’re happy. I have to question WHY someone would do that when Jojos is not short on characters who interact with either of them, so it’s not some sense of “completionist shipping.” 

Jotaro and Pucci have a canon conflict as well. This conflict revolves around Pucci blaming Jotaro for taking Dio away from him. If you remove Dio from the situation, Jotaro and Pucci probably never would have even met, much less had any animosity toward each other. 

If I put Pucci and Jotaro into a standban AU where they have the same personalities, ages, life goals (so not “stop a vampire” but “become a marine biologist) as in canon and arranged for them to meet, we have two men who love their families with strong senses of duty and moral values. Even if they might clash, they’re both pretty upfront with how they view the world and that people who do bad things deserve bad things to happen to them.

If I put Pucci and Dio into a standban AU where they have the same personalities and life goals as in canon (let’s disregard age for a moment) we’re still going to have a highly manipulative, charismatic man with a fascination in the control he has over others paired with a trusting man who wants to do anything in his power to make the world a better place.

It’s still not healthy

Dio has characters who are ACTUALLY thoughtlessly devoted to him and show no signs of being unknowingly coerced into committing crimes (Mariah, N’doul, The D’arbies) so why in the world would you pick the ONE he canonically lied to? Ask yourself why you’re doing it, and we can address this properly.

PS: If any of the characters in part 6 knew who Dio was and knew why Pucci was doing what he was doing, they could have stopped it, and that’s the tea.

Quick question, why does Jolyne's eyes look super similar to those of Akira from Devilman Crybaby? No offense, of course.

Okay so- this is a super interesting question because... I actually have an answer as to why I picked Jolyne’s eye shape?

In short, they’re supposed to look like Dio’s (the way I draw them)

This is because in another AU I’m doing, I wanted her to be visually tied to him and I hadn’t yet designed Jolyne really in detail for my artstyle, so I took the opportunity to give her a whole new coat of paint and this visual just... stuck for all of my AUs ha ha.

What chapter does this take place? (Or chapters if it’s in between.)

I don’t know why, but I thought this was for a character so I didn’t answer it lol-

It’s just after Jotaro visits the prison and Jolyne decides to stay instead of going off with the foundation. So right now, Jolyne knows Whitesnake is there, she doesn’t know there are other stand users, Pucci doesn’t know Jolyne has a stand, and almost no one knows each other well if at all.

Why is pucci blue?

This blog will be done using a color palette so that I don’t have to color everything nor do I have to keep MULTIPLE character color palettes on hand (Pucci’s skin, hair color, cross, robes, ornaments, belt, and shoes, along with Jolyne’s hair, bangs, skin, jumpsuit, tattoo, jacket- and so on for every character.)

Instead, I just have this bad boy

It’s kind of like greyscale. So Pucci is blue because he’s black and Jolyne is white because she is fair. Hermes will also be blue when/if she comes up to reflect her dark skin.
