Din Djarin x Pregnant!Reader
xFemale!Reader || sorry for slowing down on posting, I'm a little behind on requests
When you tell him — Din actually has a lot of fears and worries, but the exact moment you tell him he's excited. He cannot wait to be there for you the entire time, he cannot wait to be in the hospital wing with you, and he cannot wait to see you holding their newborn. // About two days after you tell him, you found him up late one night, which is strange for him to leave your side at night. You found him tinkering with things he's been meaning to fix on the ship, and upon asking him what he was doing, you could tell something was up. "Din, is there anything you want to talk about?" you place a hand to his bicep, tenderly keeping him from turning away from you. "I just-" he starts, "what if they don't like me?" Your heart sinks for a moment as you realize he's having doubts and insecurities. "What if they don't understand. . ." he softly gestures to his helmet, "what if. . .I scare them?" You don't negate his worries, but you assure him of the positives he's missing. You understand that it'll take time for Din to adjust, and it's a huge adjustment for the both of you, but having open communication is key while you're preparing for 9 months.
Still trying to be independent — despite the fact that you're more vulnerable than usual, you try to keep your independence best you can, but Din makes it quite difficult. He practically won't let you out of his sight, "just in case" something happens, and when you ask him what could possibly happen, he proceeds to give the most exaggerated examples possible. So, you start small. You ask that he doesn't follow you from room to room in the house, and trust you to hang the laundry on your own without him having to carry the basket for you. While he might not follow you out, he still keeps a keen eye out from the window. You also ask that he stay home when you go to market, to your surprise he lets you, but when you come home you find him pacing back and forth, and that's the moment you realise just how much
Arguments — he's worried any kind of argument will cause harm to the baby. Not that the two of you argue a lot, but even with little bickering over things Din is much more sensitive to either calmly discussing it or saying nothing. He's come to just say "okay" or nothing at all when he disagrees with you on the small things. It's actually more so when you're simply getting upset or frustrated at something that he holds his hands out, as if preparing to tame a little beast, "Honey," he starts, seeing the frustration in your expression, "maybe you should just let me do that. . . think about the baby." // "Din, I'm fine," you snap, before taking a deep breath, "okay, see I'm fine, it's fine." || You two actually wind up arguing more over what he thinks you should be doing and what you think you should be doing in your condition. It usually ends up in a loving conversation and you make sure to meet in the middle as you're both coming from different sides and perspectives. Most of what you agree on is just to ease Din's anxieties.
On the Crest — Din was extremely hesitant to even let you fly on the Crest, but you made the point that at least he could keep an eye on you if you were along, so he complied. But naturally he tried to establish some ground rules. "First, you cannot be in the hull during hyper-drive. Secondly, you need to sleep where I sleep. Thirdly, you need to have your seatbelt on at all-" // "Din," you sigh, sitting in the passenger's seat, "I understand you want to be able to see me at all times and I promise to abide by that." Din nods slowly, staring at you for a while, eyes shifting between your newly forming baby bump and eyes. // Not a few hours later and you were up and walking around the cockpit. You wanted to look out the window, organize the little compartments, anything to keep you occupied, which naturally made Din groan. "Can you please," Din struggles to try and reach the hem of your shawl while flying, "just stay in your seat?" The distress in his voice is enough to make you giggle over the fact that he's stressing wayyy too hard about the situation at hand, so you sit back down, at least until you request to stretch your legs for a while.
Tatooine — On one of the trips you’re along, you run into the Sandpeople, they are very excited for your pregnancy and accept you into their encampment eagerly. Din works as translator, but struggles a little when the women begin asking / suggesting a bunch of intimate things about the pregnancy and your body during it, but you desperately ask to know what they're saying, happy to finally have others to talk to about it. // When transportation comes up you’re thrilled: “Oh my stars! Din, look, Banthas!” You say, walking up to a young one they brought out for you, petting its side, “I’ve always wanted to ride one.” You turn, smiling, to see Din staring at you with his arms crossed, "what?" You ask observing his grumpy stature. Gesturing a dramatic X in front of his body he states, “there is no way, in your state, that you are riding a Bantha.” He says matter of factly; you frown at him, tilting your head. Approximately 2 minutes later: “Isn’t this so much fun?” You look over your shoulder to Din, who is sitting right behind you, arms holding you very steadily in place on top of the young Bantha. He’s not exactly happy, but he does melt a little when the suns start setting and you lean further back into him sleepily, resting your head on his shoulder. You move your hands to rest on top of his as you begin to fall asleep with the sounds of night and the lulling walk of the Bantha. With his hands against your baby bump and you in his arms he's never felt more secure.
Sleeping — Din is over-protective in just about everything, but he's really heightened how protective he is at night. With you having a lot of rough or sleepless nights due to the back pain, and simply the pregnancy shifts in your mood / energy, Din has become an even lighter sleeper than he was before (which was incredibly light to begin with). When he feels you stir in his arms he jolt awake and waits to see if it was actually something or if you're actually asleep. When you keep moving, he props up on his elbow, leaning over you, "can I help? Do you need anything? Is something wrong?" You smile and turn onto your side, "no, I just wanted to face you," you answer calmly, stroking your fingertips against his chest as he lies back down, relieved. When you can't sleep, he's more than happy to stay up with you, in fact he's so on top of it, that when you start to slowly get out of bed in the middle of the night Din joins you immediately, as if he'd been awake the whole time, waiting to see if you'd fall asleep or get up.
↳ because of these kinds of unpredictable nights, Din finds you falling asleep on the couch or in the Crest when (when you accompany him out there while he fixes things). Din either leaves you be, adding a blanket if needed, or he carefully carries you to a more comfortable place. // Likewise, sometimes when you and Din are just relaxing together, you'll suddenly notice Din fell asleep, head in your lap, or even just sitting next to you. Often you take that moment to rest yourself. The funniest place you found him asleep was in the Crest in the middle of the day. You giggled to yourself, but opted to leave him alone so he could finally rest.
An advantage — when you insist on coming with him, Din worries that it’ll draw the wrong sort of attention. You debate him, claiming that he brings a lot of attention when he enters a room too. However, entirely thanks to you, Din has discovered it’s a good cover, since most people don’t even know he’s married. If someone has a bounty for him, they assume he’ll be alone, not with a pregnant woman. So it helps for a cover in highly populated areas.
↳ Likewise, when he had to go to a very popular shop, he found it near impossible to get through the crowd. He returned back to you at the ship in frustration. “Did you get the parts?” You ask curiously, hearing him sigh. . . more than usual. “No,” he says immediately, before placing a hand on his hip and pointing to the market and the shop, “I can’t get more than three feet deep into that crowd, we’ll be stuck here forever.” Looking to the crowd, you stand up and wave for him to follow you, “get me as far as you got,” you whisper, “and then follow my lead.” Barely a few feet into the crowd and you start to lean heavily against Din (who immediately goes to support you), with eyes fluttering faintly you touch a stranger on the arm, “please, water? I- my baby.” With that you and Din are moved to the nearest bar which is right next door to the shop he needed. After that, Din doesn’t stop bringing it up for weeks, heart eyes and in love with you.
When it’s finally happening — you’re in the medical bay and nurses have been rushing around you, but there’s a moment when it’s just you and Din. He’s along side you, as in right next to you, you’ve got your hand in his. Din’s glancing around to see where the nurse went, when suddenly he hears your voice, “Din?” you say softly. “I’m right here,” he turns to see your teary eyes looking slightly up to gaze at him, “what is it?” He immediately draws closer. With sudden heavy breathing, your voice nearly breaks, “I’m scared.” There’s a pause as you try to search his expression for any response, he wraps an arm around you and hugs you from the side of the bed, “it’s going to be okay, I promise, you’re going to be okay.” You wrap your arms around his neck, as a few tears fall against his shoulder. “I promise,” he reassures, calmly rubbing your back.
