BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA PERFORMS ON THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW IN MANDY COON & LAPOINTE

Lady Gaga made a special appearance as a musical guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show back on April 29, 2011 where she performed ‘Yoü & I’ to promote her album ‘Born This Way’. Here’s what Nicola Formichetti dressed her in.

The black leather and chiffon dress, Gaga wore for the performance’s intro video, is from Mandy Coon’s Fall/Winter 2011 “If I Had a Heart” collection inspired by the clean precision of Man Ray and Helmut Newton photographs, and her mother who for Mandy is “the definition of quiet chic, the sort of woman you notice for her poise and elegance with just a touch of mystery”.

Gaga completed her look with that gorgeous hair mask Frederic Aspiras has created for her (she also wore for the performance)...

...and Kenneth Jay Lane crystal Headlight necklace....

…and two of his oval crystal-encrusted bangles.

For her phenomenal performance on the wire high-heel structure designed by her sister Natali made into a piano, Gaga donned a custom red boiled wool and leather structured jacket by LAPOINTE based on the Fall/Winter 2011 collection which she paired with a black leopard catsuit from Mugler’s Fall/Winter 2011 “Anatomy of Change” collection.

The black tapestry jacquard Chinese coolie hat with exaggerated eyelashes is vintage Philip Treacy Fall/Winter 1999.

The alien-inspired black ponyhair pumps from the aforementioned Mugler’s collection provided the finishing touches.

FASHION CREDITS: LADY GAGA BY MATT IRWIN FOR ELLE UK JANUARY 2012 ISSUE

Lady Gaga was shot by Matt Irwin for the Elle UK January 2012 issue. As promised in her “Marry The Night" video, mint truly was the most fashionable color for Spring 2012 - hence why her mint-green look made it to the cover! 

She was styled by Nicola Formichetti. Hair by Frederic Aspiras and James Kaliardos did the makeup. Aya Fukuda took over the manicure.

The first look shows our girl in a mesmerizing piece of art from Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. 

This orange feathery voluminous dress features a lace cut-out detail high-neck short-sleeve bodice entirely embroidered with beads. 

Her matching lace mask was custom-made by In-House Atelier.

For the cover look, the Italian-American beauty donned the sheer green beauty from Simone Rocha’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. 

The sleeveless tulle dress boasts a round neck and mini skirt with asymmetrical tiered organza overlay. 

Another custom In-House Atelier eye mask...

... and a Maison Margiela wide acrylic perspex corset belt completed the look.

Next, we have Gaga wearing the blue spaghetti strap silk organza maxi dress with piped hemline from Richard Nicoll’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The look was accessorized with a matching veil.

Gaga also rocked nude leather Lady Daf Mary Jane platform pumps by Christian Louboutin.

Finally, the fashion chameleon poses fiercely in a fine-pleated white organza cape blouse with buckle-detailed front from Mandy Coon’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

This look was finished with gravity-defying white leather heel-less platform peep-toe ankle strap pumps from Giuseppe Zanotti’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
