This went a little off the rails... but... I hope you like it?

Jill watched the crew file out of the war room; Mac, followed by Riley, Bozer and Matty. Mac always seemed to lead the way. She admired the way he just took charge.

Jack, however, was lingering.

Jill averted her eyes so she didn’t provoke him and closed her laptop with a soft whuff of air before she stood up to leave.

Jack stood right in her way. When she met his eye, he narrowed his at her.

“Alright, out with it Janet,” he said.

“Out with what Jack?” She asked, not even bothering to try and correct his mis-naming of her anymore. She sidestepped to get around him.

Jack stepped in front of her again. “I’m not kiddin’ here, alright? Out. With. It.”

“What are you going on about Jack?” She asked, deciding to stop trying to run and stand her ground. She admired Mac in the way that someday she wanted to be like him. And if she was ever going to get there, she needed to be able to stand up to men like Jack Dalton. So she held her head high.

“You got a secret,” he said.

“What?” Everybody had secrets, so what?

“I can smell it on you,” he said, sniffing dramatically in her direction.

“I really need to get back to work, so if you could-”

“You been actin’ different,” he supplied. “Two and a half weeks. Maybe three.”

Jill hadn’t thought Jack ever paid attention to her. With all the names he’d used instead of the correct one, she just assumed she was a fly on the wall to him.

He wasn’t wrong. Three weeks before a secret had made it’s way into her life, but she kept her face stony.

“Come on Jack, this is stupid,” she said, stepping around him.

He let her this time. But called after her: “I’ll find out. I’m a trained interogator you know. I’ll get it outta you.”

Jill held her head high and walked down the hall, clutching her laptop tightly.

Her new girlfriend Mandy was her secret, and she’d tell the team when she wanted to, and not a minute before.

my favorite csi episodes (continued): 08x08 "you kill me" (25/25)

hodges invites wendy, henry, mandy, and archie to solve a series of bizarre, hypothetical murder scenarios which all take place in the lab, claiming the activity is a thought experiment. however, unbeknownst to them, he has ulterior motives. meanwhile, grissom fields questions, awkwardness, and unsolicited advice from his coworkers regarding sara's recent departure from las vegas.

3. Favourite OTP scene?

Ugggghhhh of all time?!? Too hard!!! 3-way tie:

A) FinnPoe - deleted scene from the special features of The Last Jedi (the following is HEAVILY paraphrased)

Poe: I fixed your jacket. Here! *shoved jacket at Finn*

Finn: I don’t belong here, I’m not a hero

Poe: you’re right where you belong! *whispers* with me.

B) McDanno - from the Sarin episode... when Steve brings Grace to the hospital and Steve looks at Danny and fumbles his way through: “since you’re lookin’ so good.” It is THE moment I knew I was on board this ship until the end.

C) Nick/Mandy (CSI) - Mandy makes him sing “Mandy” for his lab results. Cutest. Shit. Ever. They are SO in love.

6. Least favourite character?

Doris McGarrett (Hawaii Five-0) can rot in hell. Terrible for SO many reasons. Steve should have just had a sweet school teacher mom he could remember fondly. Not Doris Stupid-Secret-Agent-I-Faked-My-Death-For-Pretty-Much-No-Reason McGarrett.
