So, the general belief is that Susie is a young dragon, right? Because her mane ax is formed from the mane of a dragon's whelp. It's also commonly believed that she came from a bad home, or is homeless.
But what if... her family really isn't mean? At least not to her.
So, imagine this: she's a young dragon, raised in a dragon family. They try to force her to eat dragon food like the rest of the family. They tell her she's supposed to be vicious and ferocious. So she tries to be. But she really can't stomach dragon food, so she eats things like chalk and crumbs from the toaster. And even though she likes blood and spiky things because she was raised with it, she can never go through with hurting others. She wants to be a real dragon like her parents, so she acts all tough, and she swears like a sailor, and she bares her teeth and is rude to everyone, but it's all just an act. She feels like a freak. No one wants to be friends with a dragon, and her family sees her as a disappointment.
Not saying this is the case, but until we meet her family, we have no way of knowing what kind of home she's from.
