She doesn’t think he knows that she’s still scared, both to get close and to be removed from them.

Quickly, Fei scrambled to add, “Wu Yihai isn’t my father anymore— I haven’t acknowledged him for years. Since I was nineteen.”

Silence again, and Fei cringed internally before the pack leader finally spoke up. “Cheers to growing as people, then,” he replied simply, raising his glass. Dumbfounded, the succubus simply went through the motions of clinking her glass against his subconsciously. 

“That— that’s it?”

“Yeah. You’re my family now too, remember? You said you’re no longer a Wu, and that’s because you’re a di Soriano. I’m choosing to trust you, Feihung, don’t make me regret it.”

She outwardly cringed at the use of her full first name, but knew it was his way of staying firm even with such welcoming words. A small, hopeful smile tugged at the corners of her lips. “I won’t. Promise.”
