i reread raise wa tanin ga ii yesterday and it makes much more sense in terms of character's psychology. simple perspective playing, but since the author delays kirishima's perspective until chap 30s ish, it read kinda confusing chap by chap. also, by hinging the series' progress on unvealing kirishima's mystery, it's not clear what's yoshino's psycho-emotional goal is. like she talks about holding her pride and principles, but "finish what you start" is simplistic. hmm, i guess she's meant to be a straightforward character so we can focus on kirishima's mystery. but i enjoy the osaka arc immensely when she's in her turf and exercises her power and network. curious to see how she would navigate her dad's murder and the kidnapping aftermath if she comes back to osaka.
anyway, i always think the series is most interesting when it shows the day-to-day operations of the yakuza, the factor wars, the rituals, the mundane, opulent, and deadly violent way of life. love.
