Warnings: None
Word Count: 680 words
Summary: Moving to the Cookie Kingdom was pretty nerve-wracking, as you had NO idea what you were supposed to do. Luckily, there's a Cookie in the kingdom who knows how to get you started.
Scenario: Crush
A/N: Awwwwwww, Mango Cookie! He's pretty cute! (I also frickin LOVE mangoes, so there's that too). Let's see how he interacts with the reader!
You stood rigid in the middle of the train station, with NO idea where to go. GingerBrave was supposed to meet you here and show you around, but the brave Cookie Kingdom representative was nowhere in sight.
"Just when I think being an ambassador for the Ancient Heroes wasn't going to be so bad..." you inwardly groaned. "Of COURSE I get lost on the first day. GingerBrave, you'd BETTER be waiting at the castle!"
You figured your best bet would be to just head for the castle right away. There was only one problem: you had NO idea how to get there.
Feeling out-of-place, you stepped into the road, looking around. This was such a busy kingdom, what with the Cookies working away in the shops and lodges, carts rolling everywhere, and canals with crystal-clear water flowing with boats running down their streams. In a kingdom this active, it was going to take a miracle for you to get to the castle safely.
"Hey, watch out!"
Your breath caught in your throat as you were whisked out of the way of a bread cart in the nick of time, towards the canals. In the split-second you fell, you expected to cause quite a splash. However, what happened instead was that you hit the carved, tropical wood of a yellow boat. Or...it was more like a canoe.
You sat up, processing what just happened when you finally looked up and took notice of your rescuer, a Cookie in a fruity-looking hat with a paddle, the cause of your fall.
"So sorry about that!" the Cookie said cheerily. "Are you hurt?"
The Cookie's bright and welcoming nature, plus his wide smile, seemed to blow all your frustration out of you and replaced it with abashment. "N-No, no, I'm okay..."
"You sure?"
"Y-Yeah...I just wasn't looking where I was going and...I'm great, actually..."
"Thank goodness. You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were new to the kingdom!"
"..."
"...Oh! You ARE new! Well, that explains everything. I'm sorry, my name's Mango Cookie, local tour guide to the Cookie Kingdom!"
"I see..." you couldn't believe your luck. "My name's (Y/N) Cookie."
Mango Cookie's eyes widened when he recognized the name. "As in...'the new Cookie ambassador (Y/N) Cookie'?"
"Yup...that's me."
The tour guide immediately dropped on one knee. "O-Oh! My Lady!"
However, his action threw the canoe off-balance, sending you both toppling towards the edge. Luckily, he caught you by your waist and managed to steady himself before you both tipped the boat. You burned redder as you realized your hands were on his chest and carefully peeled them off. "S-Sorry..."
Blushing a little himself, Mango Cookie pulled you both up again, but leaned too far back and you both ended up falling the OTHER way, causing you to fall onto him. You pushed yourself up, face now equally as pink as a candy flower. "Ah-haha...this is awkward. Not that YOU'RE awkward, it's just that we're--I'M awkward...you're gorgeous. Wait, WHAT-?!"
"Well then, I'd like to formally apologize for whacking our new ambassador with my paddle," Mango Cookie said shyly. "...And every moment after."
"No, no, no, it's fine!" you assured him. "I should probably get going anyway. Sorry to nearly sink your canoe."
You were about to step out before Mango Cookie stopped you. "Er--hold on! The Cookie Kingdom's pretty big, and it's easy to get lost, and you're new, so..." he stepped back a little, offering you a seat. "Would you like me to show you around?"
It seemed like your prayers for a miracle had been granted. "Yes, please! Thank you so much!"
Gratefully, you sat back down and Mango Cookie pushed off the pier, sending the canoe afloat down the canal. As he paddled down the tunnel that led to the main city, the canoe rocked to one side, ever-so slightly causing you two to slide closer together.
You knew it was probably too soon to tell, but you had a feeling that if you stuck around this Cookie, getting lost would be but a rare inconvenience.
OMG I'M SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN WRITING A LOT! School just started for me and again, I have a new job that's sucking up ALL my schedule. Luckily, I got the WiFi back at my house, so I should be able to keep up a little better now!
May I please request headcanons Mango Cookie with a queerplatonic partner who is a natural disaster victim with a lot of paranoia? It can be angsty or not angsty idrc, I'll be happy either way~

Opening: You’re both having fun at a beach. Mango asks you to come and surf with him, and you agree. Suddenly a bigger wave comes your way...
AN: This is a human AU. The characters can still use magic, like healing etc.
Not proof read!
“Watch out for the wave!”
You were both walking on the soft beach sand, towards the water. He had invited you to go surf with him. You had no idea how to surf, and even though you told Mango this, he didn’t care. He was willing to teach you if needed. Because of this you couldn’t say no to him.
As soon as you arrived near the waterline, Mango dragged two surfing boards in front of you two. “Have you ever been on one of these?” Mango asked as he started to go in water with you. “No, never.” You giggle a little at this. Mango hummed in response and passed you one of the boards. “Now that we're deep enough we can start to learn!” He smiled at you.
The view was beautiful. Clear water that illuminated the blue sky’s colour on top of the water, making it seem blue. Long palm trees, with healthy and green leaves. Today happened to be really hot, so it was nice to get to swim in the cooling ocean. There were almost no clouds moving in the sky, just a few small ones here and there.
“Lay down on your belly on the board, and try to paddle with your arms!” Mango said and showed you an example. You tried to do as he said, and to your surprise it wasn’t all that hard. A few times you were close to tripping over with the board because of waves, but Mango seemed to make sure that that didn’t happen.
“Now for the next step, you need to be able to stand on the board!” Mango smiled at you brightly. “You wait for a smaller wave, paddle for a little bit and then stand up!” He explained to you and once again showed an example. When he did it it didn’t seem hard at all, so you had some hope in yourself. You saw a wave coming, got ready and started to paddle. And before you knew it you were standing on the board, going forward. Mango stayed close to your board the whole time, making sure you didn’t make any nasty falls. You repeated this multiple times, until Mango was sure that you had gotten the hang of this.
“I think we’re ready now, you seem to be doing quite well! Now we can try to surf together!” Mango hummed, and got on his board. You started to search for waves. You were mostly watching him surf on the bigger waves, since you didn’t have the skill nor the confidence to even try and surf them. Even though this, you did surf the smaller waves just fine. When you had woken up today you weren’t sure if you would even like this, but oh how wrong you had been. Especially with someone it was a lot of fun.
At this point it had probably been hours since you two had started, and you were still going. Mango watching you surf and you watching him. You were now watching him surf one of the bigger waves in aw. You wanted to one day be able to surf like that as well, but that was in the future. Now you were at a point where you would sometimes fall even with the smaller waves. Thank god Mango wasn’t one to laugh if you failed and fell, he would just help you back up.
Now. During this thinking session a big wave had appeared behind you. because of your little space out, you were about to get hit by it. “Watch out for the wave!” Mango yelled at you, but before he was able to come and get you the wave splashed on top of you, swallowing you and your board under water. As soon as your face hit the water, you closed your eyes. You felt the board hit your leg. This made you let out air since you let out a scream underwater. You tried your best to try and swim up,, but the wave was still spinning the water and you with it.
After spinning for what felt like ages, you were finally thrown out of the wave. You were all out of energy to try and get up, but you still tried to fling your arms the best you could. Thankfully Mango had spotted you in the water, and swam up to you. He quickly took a hold of you, and pulled you on his board, to let you breathe if you could. After he had made sure you were safe, he swam back to the shore. Mango carefully dragged you on the sand and started to do CPR, to get the water out of your lungs. “Come on now…” he murmured with worry on his face. Soon you started to cough up water and turned to your side to get it all out. You squised your eyes more shut and used all your strength to cough. Mango let out a small sigh of relief and helped to keep your head up. “It’s only going to get better from here..” He murmured, as he helped you to sit up. “Did you get hurt anywhere? That was an awfully big wave..” Mango asked while looking at you. After coughing up all the water you could, your throat was left sore. Your nose felt like it was burning, and so did your throat. “The board hit my right leg..” Your raspy voice replied. Mango nodded and looked at the bruise. It didn’t seem like anything serious, but it would leave a painful bruise that would show up soon. “Let’s go and get a drink for your throat. I promise you’ll feel better soon.” Mango smiled at you and offered a hand. You only nodded because you didn’t want to damage your throat even more, and took his hand.
Mango walked you to a small bar, and paid for your drink. It was a nice and cold tropical fruit smoothie. He walked you to a table and you both sat down. “I’ll go and find your board later today.” Mango smiled at you and took a sip from his drink. “You know, the same happened to me when I had just started. I remember how horrible I felt after.” He kept talking to entertain you and lighten up the mood. “But I hope this makes you feel even a little better.” You could only nod at him as you drank the rest of your drink.
“Can I walk you home?” He asked as he was getting off the chair. “Sure!” You hummed quickly, not to stress your throat more. You not being able to talk a whole lot gave Mango a great chance to tell you his stories he loved to tell anyone he was hanging out with. And this is just what he did. The whole way to your house he kept telling stories about his home island, all the people back there and much more. But you weren’t even bothered by this, since you loved to spend time with him and you knew how much he loved this topic. So even if you were able to talk, you wouldn’t tell him to stop.
Before you closed your house’s door, Mango invited you to surf with him again. “Maybe if you want we could try to surf again next week? I’ll make sure there are no such big waves then so you’ll stay safe.” He smiled. “Of course, let’s see then.” You smiled brightly at him and went inside. Mango left to find his boards with the same bright smile on his face as you.
