dimmed  lights  and  house  music  playing  in  the  background,  not  too  loudly.  two  of  mila's  favorite  things  about  soho  house  was  the  fact  that  it  was  members  only,  and  quite  private.  it  was  forbidden  to  take  pictures  inside,  which  meant  there  were  less  eyes  on  the  ballerina.  “  do  you  think  they'd  take  suggestions  for  music  ?  ”  she  questioned.  she  didn't  mind  it,  but  she  always  thought  they  can  do  better.  “  i  feel  like  i've  already  heard  this  song  playing.  ”

ext, night. a penthouse rooftop party in manhattan. status. closed ! [ 6/6 ]

‎ TWO WEEKS OUT OF REHAB and already, julian found himself on the rooftop of somebody's penthouse, the dj spinning a jazz house mix featuring expensive chatter through the veneers of new york's elite. it was someone's birthday, someone who pointedly did not put julian on the guest list, which he took as a sign that he absolutely had to go. leaning against one of the huge glass panels, a funny, morbid thought came to him then: he would absolutely not survive the fall this time. "so, i don't think i was invited," he said with a pout, almost like the realization was just dawning on him, to the person who'd somehow materialized next to him. "but security let me in, anyway, which probably says a lot more about me than it does about them." and, with a crooked hint of a smirk, raised the beer to his lips before adding, "heard what you did, by the way," almost challenging them to confirm or deny whatever it was he think he'd heard.

daisy  was  a  little  overwhelmed  which  would  surprise  absolutely  nobody  who  knew  her.  these  sort  of  events  made  her  imposter  syndrome  kick  in  at  full  force.  she  had  always  been  an  outsider  to  the  world  of  fame  and  she  had  grown  used  to  the  feeling  for  the  most  part.  but  this  felt  like  it  was  just  reminding  her  of  how  much  of  an  outsider  she  truly  was  on  a  different  level.  nevertheless,  she  tried  to  push  that  thought  to  the  back  of  her  mind  and  enjoy  the  moment  as  much  as  she  could.  and  hey,  a  petting  zoo  seemed  like  a  cute  idea.  she  had  grown  up  around  farm  animals  just  by  nature  of  her  hometown  and  going  to  county  fairs.  "never  got  to  pet  a  monkey  on  any  of  the  farms  back  home."  she  laughs,  musing  to  herself  and  to  whoever  is  around  really.

lights strung overhead made the whole place glow, music spilling out onto the courtyard where people were already dancing and laughing like they’d forgotten the outside world existed. isla leaned against the bar, swirling a themed cocktail she hadn’t quite decided if she liked yet. she glanced sideways when someone took the spot next to her. “important question, and answer carefully,” she said, head tilting slightly toward them. “are you here for the aesthetic..” gaze flicking briefly over their fit. “.. or because this is the only place on the property serving alcohol?” a small, playful smile followed. “the answer determines whether i offer to buy your next drink.”

a twig snapped, shattering the relative quiet of the near empty archery range, and instinct spun risa around. her focus broken, grasp loosened on the bowstring. in a blink, the arrow was loosed and sent flying in the wrong direction. risa gasped as it struck the tree next to the person.  ❝ shit ! sorry ! ❞   bow fell to the ground. she didn't want to think how much worse that could've ended. then again —  ❝ you really shouldn't sneak up on someone. ❞

hand  stroked  carefully  along  the  nose  of  the  large  stallion  that  she'd  somehow  managed  to  befriend.  despite  her  small  frame,  she  wasn't  overly  intimidated  by  the  horse  in  the  way  that  she'd  heard  others  would  be.  "you  know,  i  don't  think  i've  ever  actually  ridden  a  horse."  it  wasn't  exactly  something  that  was  readily  available  when  she'd  been  growing  up,  nor  had  she  ever  felt  the  need  to  try  once  she'd  entered  into  adulthood.  "maybe  once  at  some  sort  of  summer  camp,  but  i  can't  really  remember."  she  spoke  idly  to  the  person  beside  her.  "i  think  it's  one  of  those  things  you  either  learn  to  do  really  young  if  you  have  the  chance,  or  it  just  passes  you  by."
