Unbeknownst to the imp, someone else had just entered the garden, his sensitive ears having picked up the suppressed shot. Of course, he didn’t make himself known, even when Millie had killed the other guard. Given the brutality of both kills and the simultaneous enjoyment she seemed to gain from it, Ash knew that being caught would likely result in her attempting to kill him as well. This was not a desired outcome, as he was here on his own little “assignment”, though he wasn’t here to kill the occupant of the house. Actually, said occupant possessed a rather dangerous item: an old tome that could be used to summon/control demons in exchange for blood sacrifices. He had reason to assume that the higher-ranking demons in the book could be used to cause immense chaos in Hell and on Earth alike. As such, it was understandable as to why he would be a target for I.M.P.: one, a good number of Sinners likely ended up in Hell because of him, and two, demons would object strongly to being on a human’s leash. Understanding that what he was about to do would likely result in an aggressive reaction, Ash nevertheless proceeded to clear his throat. Immediately after, he raised his hands in a surrendering gesture.
