Me and the boys on our way to fail our Leadership Tests
New Hotness.
It’s hard to imagine that I haven’t painted since going to England in June. It’s been three months since I touched a paintbrush to a mini. My little people must miss me sorely.
But all that’s going to change. Because after moving to West Virginia for my Year Of Living Dangerously...
...Daddy got to build the desk his way.
P.S. Thank you everyone for all the love on the posts of our D&D finale. It was an emotional night--what you can’t see in the photos are all the boxes filled with the rest of my life on the other side of the room. The minis and terrain I needed to say goodbye to our campaign were some of the last things I packed. Extra shout to maniakminis.tumblr.com, who reblogged 3 of the 5 parts!
I’d also like to thank Tumblr.
Because I don’t know what I would do if the following definitely-real-and-totally-not-spam Tumblr accounts hadn’t had the opportunity to express their love for D&D and miniatures. Extra thanks to the “likes” from these fine folks:
All-hot-sweet-teens.
lonely-hot-young-babes. I believe that’s actually a Tumblr run by PhD students.
unwed-sexy-adorable-bimbo. I’m expecting a very sincere PM anytime mentioning that she’s been waiting all her life for a guy like me. I’m the guy in the red jacket in the gifs above, by the way. Really.
Them legs tho...
Ivya Volga for Age of Sigmar Soulblight Gravelords. Gonna use her as my leader for my Mordheim Vampires warband. I even painted the rock on her base as a warpstone. Very fun model!
Orc Big Boss on Big Boar!
This old model has been in need of repair for years. His missing shield hand was replaced with an Ogre Gauntlet. Missing boss pole replaced with an Ork Warbuggy pole. The missing boar model was replaced with a Reaper Miniatures Dire Boar. I'm happy to have finally painted this guy!
WAAAGH!!!
Fwens 🌈
Gaolers (Jailers) for my Chaos Dwarf Warband.
These guys are supposed to cause fear in humans so I gave them glowy eyes under their helmets.
What I noticed in my first game of old world is how important having your banner was. I failed nearly every combat, even the ones where none of my side died, because my opponent had the benefit of a banner on his end. This led my trolls to fleeing and getting overrun and my boyz having to give ground multiple times! Next game I'll be sure to give my melee blocks their full command!
Also my friend was asking me how to do freehand painting. I took some pictures of the rough process I went through for this skull. I'm no expert but I'm excited to get more freehand practice in while working on this army!
Asking strangers on the internet to look at my Lump. #mylump
This guy has been in my WIP pile for like a year. Most of the parts were 3d printed and or sculpted for it last January but I was stuck on what I wanted on his back. I wanted it to be a castle tower but I had trouble figuring out how to make it. I finally found a cardboard tube that was the right size, shaped it to be more crooked, then added plasticard cobblestones. I'm very happy with the final result!
