Unlike her more sociable mannequindroid friends, Gina takes her job of being a store mannequin very seriously.

Annie and Luna decide to pass the time during a particularly long display shift to take a selfie…

…much to the shock of a passer-by who isn't aware that the two mannequins are robots!

I haven't drawn in a little while because I have been really not feeling great lately. Fortunately I had a bit more energy these past couple days to try and de-rust, hope you all like this :)

It may look like she's just sitting on a table, but Annie's actually hard at work advertising clothing. (She totally wasn't just daydreaming.)

This has been the first proper piece I've done in a month. Sorry about that, I've just not been feeling well and my sleep schedule has been in ruins. This took about a week to get done on-and-off as a result.

Aki and Luna "model swapped"

Aki and Luna "model swapped" - a bit like outfit-swapping, but with design traits of different robots. (Aki with Luna's mannequindroid traits, and Luna with Aki's doll traits.)

Decided to do something fun and experimental in multiple ways. 1: A "model swap", which is like a style or outfit swap but for robot models. Here, I've drawn Aki as an MDL-H mannequindroid and Luna as an ARC doll-jointed android (they're usually the other way round).

I decided to give Aki a drawn-on face because I wanted to illustrate (haha) the fact that some mannequindroids work around their static or nonexistent faces by using dry-wipe markers to draw facial expressions and details that they wouldn't demonstrate otherwise. I've entertained the idea of Annie doing this, but have never drawn it.

2: Lineless but done not in my normal lineless workflow (linework, then flat colours, then doing rendering on top of both of those). Instead, I went straight into painting, only just blocking out areas with flat colour beforehand over a sketch layer. This is a bit more typical for painting traditionally from what I'm aware, so it was a fun challenge. I do think the overall proportions are a little wonky, particularly on Aki (who I did first). That might be because of my initial sketch though. I think Luna came out very nicely however.

Stella is a mannequindroid with many jobs:

full-time store assistant (which sometimes includes display model shifts)

trainee lifeguard on weekends

occasionally an emergency rescue float

Finally a more "formal introduction" for Stella.

The idea of her being a lifeguard came from a discussion with a friend over a pool/leisure centre being entirely staffed by mannequindroids (who also worked in a small shop that's part of the centre), then I brought up the idea that a lifeguard mannequin would work well due to being rather buoyant, (though not so good at resuscitation due to being unable to administer mouth-to-mouth ventilation.)
