It may look like she's just sitting on a table, but Annie's actually hard at work advertising clothing. (She totally wasn't just daydreaming.)
This has been the first proper piece I've done in a month. Sorry about that, I've just not been feeling well and my sleep schedule has been in ruins. This took about a week to get done on-and-off as a result.
Willow and Stella (new character) try out some ballet to improve their balancing. But it looks like someone's cheating!!!
last mannequin-centric piece for a lil while. been fun drawing and designing them (esp trying to get emotions out of faceless and non-emotive characters), but i need to give my other characters love!!
also a quick bio for stella - she's roommates with luna and shares a sisterly bond with her (hence why i gave her the name "stella" and a similar eye colour - the hair was just originally a coincidence), her favourite clothes to wear are basic casual clothes (tshirts, shorts, etc)
fun fact - stella is technically the "oldest" of the mannequin designs! she originates from a prop i made for my personal minecraft creative world, and was the variant i did first out of the three i made (one of the other variants is just her wearing a different outfit).
"The Window Trio" - a trio of mannequindroids that called themselves that because they tend to run their display shift together in the window.
From left to right:
Luna - confident, chic, sassy. The "leader" of the trio, likes to be the one making decisions. Likes to do her job properly. Favourite type of fashion to wear is "smart casual", particularly the store's spring range. Would love to become a regular model in the fashion industry, but that would probably result in leaving her friends. Likes to take photoshoots of herself for social media to compensate.
Annie - bubbly, outgoing, energetic. Despite her lack of a face, she's the most expressive out of the three. Wishes she could chat with the shop's customers to give them advice, but display mode makes an MDL-H unit silent to save power. Her favourite type of attire to wear is anything cosy - sweaters, baggy clothes, pyjamas, what-have-you. Autumn and wintertime are her favourite times to work for this reason. She's pretty content with her current state, but would love to be able to socialise with the regulars more - she loves making new friends.
Gina - reserved, shy, gentle. Likes to prefer the display shift over regular store shifts, as she's not very good at talking to people. When socialising, she tends to let her best friend Annie do the talking. Despite her reserved nature, she's a big fan of wearing more formal clothing - she doesn't like talking to people, but she sure does like it when people appreciate her presence visually. Wears a face mask to hide her static mouth when working as she doesn't want to scare people. Spends her free time quietly reading romance novels.
Extra info regarding them that I don't think I've shared:
MDL-H units are typically employed both as mannequins and regular store employees. They rotate shifts between "display mode" and employee work, and spend their out-of-hours time in the back rooms (usually a warehouse-like environment with a bunch of cubicles to function as personal living quarters). Around twenty MDL-H units are employed to the average clothing store, with rotating shifts.
Display mode turns the unit rigid (with some movement allowed if manually posed to prevent damage to internal components). A mannequindroid in display mode is typically mounted to a stand that also doubles as a charging bay, and it is akin to sleeping, with a screensaver-like simulation running to pass the time. Sometimes mannequindroids will choose not to "sleep" in display mode, but this can get boring quickly.
