Dem bones creature feature
The mansion was dark without all the extra spotlights for advanced sight during battle. It almost had a calm aura, Demo thought to himself with a bottle in his hand, walking beside Medic who seemed genuinely interested in the surrounding environment.
Demo was about to point out an oddly shaped statue when the sound of Medics yelp of curiosity echoed off the old wooden walls of the room.
“What’d you find n-” Demo turned around before shouting in reflex, watching as Medic held a pulsating heart in his hands.
“Oh! And look! A brain above, quite an unusual find, ja?” Medics eyes widen with crazed excitement, nodding in agreement to his friend.
“Aye…” Demo wasn’t too sure how to respond to the doctor without hurting the man’s feelings. He turned once more to examine the statue, letting his heart leap out of his chest shortly after. Backing up, Demo dropped the booze and let it roll to the ground.
“I bid you welcome, my guests. I have something to get off my chest, I am a fan of some degree of curiosities as you may have noticed!” The ghost sounded like it has a thousand voices all overlapping at once.
The sheet cloaking it was a rich blue color, making some tears at the bottom of the sheet more visible against the contract of the dark wallpaper than others.
“But, if you like my knickknacks, I’d appreciate it if you kept them in containment. Contamination is nothing to play with, my friend.”
Medic glanced quietly between Demo and the ghost before quickly placing the heart back in the glass container, muttering a quick but sincere apology.
“I’d hope you would like to…add to my collection?” The ghost swooped forward, presenting large eyes.
“Eh, no thanks, mate. I especially like me organs in me body.” Demo grinned nervously, steadily walking backward toward Medic as the ghost egged him on.
One by one the books flew off the shelves, nearly pelting the two with 600+ page hardbacks.
“Just think about it! You would never age, always being on display! A celebrity at best!” The voice chimed throughout the halls.
As a Medic, Medic believes he should ensure the safety of his fellow teammate and geT THE HELL OUT OF THERE
With a swift motion, Medic grabs Demo by the arm, yanking him out of harm’s way. Just in time too, a book zooms through the path Demo was just on, shattering the glass case the heart is in. The piece fly out, cutting into the heart and letting it slide off the shelf and into the ground, ceasing a beat.
“I’ll find you!” The ghost cried out tto the fleeing mercenaries rounding the corner to the main hall of the mansion. “You’ll be on display, just you wait!”
The doors burst open and Medic and Demo were free.
They vowed to never speak of this again.
