FTH2021 Supported Organization: Manomet
Of all the challenges facing us in the present, none is greater than climate change. While it is still possible to mitigate the damage to our environment, it requires us to make drastic changes to how we consume resources and interact with the natural world around us. Aside from the practical difficulties of implementing these changes, the work of complicated by the corporate right’s deliberate politicization of environmental science, making the most urgent realities of our time seem inconclusive.
One organization working to meet this complex tangle of challenges is Manomet. An organization of science educators, Manomet partners with local communities on a range of projects such as:
habitat conservation
building sustainable food production practices
working to improve conditions for endangered species
By embedding themselves within existing community networks, and engaging in extensive education and community outreach, Manomet works for truly sustainable environmental change.
