Visited at the Korean BBQ Tsubame in Susukino Sapporo. After the BBQ we visited the Ramen house Manryu. My wife’s younger days BBQ and Ramen were her standard course.

Manryu and her Dog 1908 (by Blue Ruin1)
Born in 1894, Manryu was considered a rare beauty. She became a popular postcard model after the end of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-05) and was voted the most beautiful woman in Japan in a contest sponsored by a magazine publisher. Her popularity was such that she also appeared in a wide variety of advertising posters for everything from cosmetics to Kikkoman soy sauce. Manryu, whose real name was Shizu Tamukai, was adopted by the Harumoto geisha house in the Akasaka geisha district of Tokyo when she was seven years old. She married twice and after the death of her second husband she taught the art of tea ceremony.
