Manticores are always excited to find new types of monsters so they can bring a new and unknown poison to Guess the Poison. Also bonus points if they use lead as a sweetener in the game
Manticores who find New and Exciting Poisons are always the happiest Manticores. It's adorable, in a deeply disturbing sort of way.
Witcher of the Manticore School from the upcoming The Witcher: Old World board game.
“Although today the School of the Wolf is undoubtedly the most famous, there were many witcher schools in the past. The Monster Trail expansion introduces the witcher of the Manticore School, who specializes in brewing potions!”
Ok hear me out....we know witcher schools chose their mascot creatures to base their fighting style and moral character on ((Cat: stealth, no loyalty; Wolf: tracking, planning; Bear: strength, endurance))
But
What if
They unintentionally absorbed their social traits too
Wolf: pack mentality hence spending the winter months together at their training grounds/keep, working together to get contracts done, spar with each other often as training m
Bear: finds a well stocked solitary spot to settle for the winter months, stays the most out of social dumbshit but will venture out into danger for a small treat or arbitrary personal conquest
Cat: likes to make camp/sleep high off the ground, generally avoid each other out of caution, small spaces are safest spaces
Griffin (eagle + lion): hates enclosed spaces to camp/needs a good vantage point to survey, pack mentality also winter together at training grounds,
Manticore (idk it’s a fuking sphinx): the only social behavior I kno about manticore is they tell u riddles, maybe these dudes are the insufferable smartasses of the witcher schools, probably hit u with uh ‘well actually’ and eat artisanal cheeses
Viper: the most impersonal even in early childhood training, like small hidden vantage points when making camp and hunting, don’t waste energy on trivial tasks,
@letholetgod
Quick bit of dopplering as Saul, I’ll mess with getting more pics for you later
Inexxxxxx I'm so happy that the Manticores are written to be racially and culturally distinct from the Wolves/Cats! Yes to Manticores liking spices! Thank youuuuuuu!
I'm glad you like that! I figured the School had been in Zerrikania for a while, so it mades sense for them to be, well, mostly Zerrikanian in a lot of ways.
They're being very good about not putting hot sauce on poor Aleksander's food XD
I'm really enjoying Dilan in the latest installment of the AWAU! I'm stealing him for my awesome witcher OC hoard.
One question though, how do you pronounce his name? Is it Dill-an, Die-lan, dill-Ann, or some other pronunciation I haven't managed to think of?
I think it's "Dill-an," as it happens. Have fun with him! He's a delight!
Under the ask about Josephine someone commented that maybe she poisoned her abusive intendent instead of commiting suicide and funnily enough I thought THE SAME thing. I can easily imagine her running away from Redania because she is basicly a fugative and searching for witchers as a last resort. I feel like Manticores would really appreciate her 💜.
Manticores: ...So you poisoned your terrible fiance. Tell us more! What did you use? What dosage? Why did you choose that particular poison?
Josephine, very confused: This...is not the conversation I thought I would be having?
Manticores: Oh, no, we totally understand that some people just need to be dead. We just want details!
