A great white wine from the moschofilero grape. Here is how the producer describes it: “Selected vineyards from the communes of Rizes, Lithovounia and Agiorgitika (Arcadia, Greece). The continental climatic conditions and the altitude of the area, lead to the gradual maturing of the grapes, the full development of the aroma potential of the variety and the retaining of natural acidity of the moschofilero grape variety. Modern technological vinification with the use of prefermentation extraction at a temperature of 10o C for 8 hours. Fermentation is carried out at a low temperature of 12o C. A greek wine with exceptional freshness and lively acidity. Citrus fruits and lemon flowers on the nose, with a crisp, clean finish.” I had the pleasure in the past to sample the 2010 and 2012 vintages. I found a medium lemon color wine with pink hues. Clean on the nose with medium+ aromatic intensity suggesting of lime, orange zest, apple, honeysuckle, pear, elderflower and pineapple. Fully developed. Dry on the palate, with medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium body and medium+ flavor intensity displaying lime, orange zest, apple, honeysuckle, pear, elderflower and pineapple. Medium length with yellow fruit aftertaste. Very good quality wine with balance between the well-defined fruit and the zesty acidity, some fruit complexity and concentration and medium aftertaste. Great to accompany fish dishes in the company of loved ones!
