Manuscript Submissions
For anyone who is planning to start submitting their work to agents or publishers, I cannot recommend a spreadsheet highly enough. We’ve now submitted to 10 agents and received 3 rejections - but we have over 40 agents on our list to submit to. This spreadsheet helps us keep track of where we’ve submitted to, who has rejected us, where we want to submit to, and what each submission requires and whether they are currently accepting submissions or not. it’s a great way of keeping track of what we’re doing and who we want to submit to.
Having a spreadsheet helps make sure you don’t submit to the same place more than once, as well.
As you can see, we have one tab for places we want to submit to, one for future submissions (ie. those that are currently closed but that may open sometime in the future) one for rejections, and one for completed submissions.
