#maple wand

Question for my witches

I've recently finished carving a wand out of soft maple. This is my first wand I've done myself and I'm unsure what to do next. I sanded it down with a pumice stone to prevent splinters. Do I polish it? Or is it supposed to stay natural and free of polishes?

Faerie Fire- Maple wood pagan ritual wand with purple aura quartz, amethyst, rainbow moonstone, and abalone shell. It’s difficult to capture the color changes of this one on camera, but it’s an iridescent purple and green color shift pigment. The enchanted flame dances up the shaft of the wand, studded with swarovski crystals.
