Delight your taste buds with these delightful Maple Sugar Cookies. Made with pure maple syrup and coated in maple sugar, they offer a perfect balance of sweetness with a hint of rich maple flavor.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup pure maple syrup. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 cup maple sugar for rolling.
Instructions: Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup and beat until well mixed. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. Put the cookie dough in the fridge for at least an hour with plastic wrap over it. Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Cut the chilled dough into tablespoon-sized pieces and roll them into balls. Make sure each ball is evenly covered in maple sugar as you roll it in it. Don't crowd the baking sheet when you put the dough balls on it; leave some space between each one. Use the bottom of a glass or your hand to gently press down on each cookie. Put the cookies in an oven that is already hot and bake them for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. Have fun with these tasty maple sugar cookies!
