I figured I’d upload the maps I made for Virago. They’re really quite useful! I dithered for a while over whether or not to include them in the actual book file, since Kindle will probably display them in super crappy quality, but I figured why not. So they’re in the book, but looking pretty crap, so I thought I’d give you guys the full quality images here.
This one is a basic map of Paris, divided into arrondissements. The Parisian arrondissements ca. 1830 were different from those of modern-day Paris. For instance, the Panthéon, now a famous landmark of the 5th arrondissement, was at that time located in the 12th arrondissement; likewise, the Louvre, now the primary attraction of the 1st arrondissement, was then located in the 4th arrondissement. Enjolras and her friends and family spent most of their time in the 10th, 11th, and 12th arrondissements, a thought foreign to those familiar with the modern-day Latin Quarter, now located in the 5th and 6th arrondissements.
