STARTER CALL // MARA JADE @maraelia
"I'd hope at this point that the bounty on me has expired..." He mused, a gentle, wry smile coloring his face. "... But no one would guess it considering how many bounty hunters keep showing up at my door."

STARTER CALL // MARA JADE @maraelia

@maraelia : ʿ you have to rise above. ʾ
῾ but why ? ᾿ rage flashes on a child’s eyes , short temper flaring through every syllable in short words. rey’s arms cross against her body , not in protection but indignation. strands of her hair falls over her eyes , while others fly to the sides as though she had a particularly nasty encounter with a feral tooka. her brows furrow as she looks up at her mother, the ends of her robes stained with mud. ῾ i only bit him because he pulled my hair. really hard. ᾿

He breathes slowly, deeply, slowing his heart. He wants to sync it up to hers -- to theirs. With his ear against her belly, he can hear the baby’s heart, feel their movements under his cheek -- a moment they had never thought would come.
He chuckles, placing his hand against her stomach, shifting his position to try to keep Mara as comfortable as possible -- a long shot, at this stage.
“It’s kicking -- the baby; it’s kicking my face.”

“Don’t put this on me! That was all Han’s fault!”
MEME // MARA JADE SKYWALKER || @maraelia asked: ❝ Nobody speaks for me. ❞ - a week old meme i can’t be bothered to link
Ooo -- That Senator really did it this time. It was bad enough that Leia kept inviting Luke to come to these meetings, to put in his two credits as the Grand Master of the Jedi Order. He’d rather stay out of it all together -- but the Senate weren’t all entirely keen on former Emperor’s Hand Mara Jade having married into the Skywalker family. Most people had seen their marriage as a unification of the Empire (what was left of it, anyway) and the New Republic -- though Luke had always found that notion completely ludicrous, considering that Mara hadn’t been a part of the Empire since the Emperor’s death, and Luke might live in the New Republic, but he had nothing to do with its governance. The others held the same broken thought process, but they thought that Mara had some alternate and nefarious motives for becoming close with Luke.
Honestly, all of this just made him wish they’d eloped -- Leia was a princess and she’d eloped, Luke was just a former moisture farmer, why was his marriage suddenly the talk of the galaxy?
But this particular senator didn’t seem to be able to leave well enough alone, and Mara would only put up with snide snipes for so long until she fired back -- this one on the heels of some kind of comment that started “I think I speak for all of us when --”
He was probably supposed to be appalled but really, he was just amused. And smitten.
“I don’t think these negotiations need us any more,” He laced his fingers through Mara’s, gently tugging her away before any true bloodshed could start. “C’mon,” He said, giving her hand a gentle pull to divorce them from the rest of the group. He was sure Jaina or Tenel Ka could speak for the Jedi Order in their absence.
He waits to speak to her again until after they’re out of ear shot, and he tucks her arm into his, leaning over to bump his shoulder against hers. “Well, I think it was very sexy of you not to reach over the table and strangle him. But I’ll admit -- I don’t think I would have minded that either.” He teased, giving her hand a soft squeeze.
RANDOM ASK // MARA JADE SKYWALKER || @maraelia asked: mara wraps her arms around his abdomen from behind & kisses him on the cheek :*
He smiles. She didn’t surprise him, he could sense her coming; could feel her presence across the whole expanse of the galaxy. He could -- and had-- pinpointed her exact location in the middle of a debris-filled battle field in space, floating in a cockpit with only minutes left on life support -- and that was long before they’d been married.
No, she didn’t surprise him, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t grateful for the affection, and wraps his arms around hers against his midsection, turning his head to accept the cheek kiss.
“Morning.” He says, turning his eyes back to the dawn on the horizon. He had a feeling she was still mostly asleep (all the more reason to stay still and let her hide her head against his back and away from the sun) but he’d always been an early riser. “You’re up early. There’s caf already, but I can’t promise it’s still hot.”
@maraelia ╱ ( MARA JADE SKYWALKER ) :
❝ that was never in question. ❞ she thinks to herself often, when it is only the two of them, when even the whole of the galaxy is quiet to allow them the rare moment of peace, that jaina has grown beyond dreams & expectation alike in the way that only jaina ever could. mara tries not to dwell, knowing the image of a small & young pilot with childish glee still clinging to her cheeks is hardly what the sword of the jedi herself would want imposed on her, but sometimes, she can’t help it. shaking the thought, mara’s fingers come to lightly grip her lightsaber, still hooked on her belt, & nudges jaina with her shoulder.
❝ why don’t you let me handle the guys at the front this time, yeah ? spare some excitement for your poor old aunt. ❞
where once juvenile delight gleamed in dark eyes, now shone all but resigned determination. the girl had become a woman in the midst of the most harrowing conflict in galactic memory and the pall of it hung over her as obviously as that of the empire did over her parents, over uncle luke… and even mara. jaina could feel it there, that lens through which they each viewed their lives, the sacrifices upon sacrifices each had made. now, that legacy had come for her.
a little of that childish spark returned at the friendly jostle, jaina returning her aunt’s touch with a little more vigor than was given. ❝ you know, you can’t claim i see you as old already when you keep saying things like that, right? ❞ as if the vibrant woman beside her was anything close to the title of ‘old’… the younger woman’s focus returned to the soon to be battlefield, some fire already sputtering at a flank. ❝ you want point? i’ll be your wingman, simple as that. ❞
you could take the girl out of the snubfighter, but you couldn’t take the pilot out of the girl.
MEME || MARA JADE // @maraelia asked: " no. no way, no way in hell am i doing that. no! no... aw, fine... "
Luke stands by, waiting for Mara to run through the slew of emotions that his suggestion was undoubtedly going to bring up. He waits, patiently, trying to keep the smile from edging onto his face when she finally relents.
“See? It’s not such a bad idea after all ...”
