A single bench of Kerala High Court in a recent judgment Cattle Race Club of India Vs. State of Kerala dated 8 April 2015 held that “chances for extending cruelty to animals in the case of ‘Kalapoottu’, ‘Kannupoottu’ or ‘Maramadi’ competition very much exist.”
