6. actor/actress i can't stand: jack "the ham" carson.  he is absolutely repulsive. i have never in my life cheered harder for a fictional character than i did when james cagney gave carson the root canal from hell in the strawberry blonde

19. favorite irish actress: i love maureen o'hara but tbh she's the only one who comes to mind???

23. favorite onscreen couple: everyone is going to say powell and loy so i'm going to go with eleanor boardman and james murray, who only made one picture together (the crowd) but it's a screen romance so deeply painful and compelling i'm pretty sure it's twisted all of my major organs out of shape in exquisite sympathetic agony

33. favorite film from each genre: comedy -- the apartment, swashbuckler -- the mark of zorro (1940), film noir -- they live by night, musical -- footlight parade and the gay divorcee (i can't pick one!!!!!!), holiday -- holiday lmao, hitchcock -- strangers on a train

March 13, 1947: Harold Russell and Cathy O’Donnell pose for the press with three of the seven Oscars won by the cast and crew of the World War II epic The Best Years of Our Lives.
