📆 Run Streak Day 261 👕 @biehlercycling 👖 @decathlondeutschland 👟 @mizunorunningeurope ⚠️ selbstgekauft: no ad! 👉 instagram.com/jo.schma 👈 #time2run #marathoner #runnershigh #runrunrun #instarunning #igrunners #iloverunning #runforlife #runforfun #happyrunner #marathontraining #instarun #runnersofinstagram #runhappy #instarunners #runners #marathon #runner #run #running #darumlaufenwir #lauf #halbmarathon #laufenmachtspass #laufenverbindet #joggen #laufliebe #läuft #laufenmachtglücklich #laufen (hier: Essen, Nordrhein-Westfalen) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbQNnl6tUzr/?utm_medium=tumblr

We did it! My team and I completed the #ASICSWorldEkiden virtual marathon relay 😀 26.2 miles shared across 3 NYC boroughs (Bronx, Brooklyn & Manhattan), Washington DC and New Jersey. Our race journey’s took place on different days, times and even in different weather but the camaraderie and finish line remained the same. Congratulations to @iamxephyra (leg 1), Kevin C. (Leg 2), @rosebudluvv (leg 3), @itsvalo (leg 5) & @marie_lissain (leg 6).You rocked it!💪🏾 Please swipe through to see their race day pics and also check out my stories. As the Captain of Team Unstoppable, I couldn’t be prouder of you all. Thanks to @ASICS for putting on a super fun, virtual Fall race event. It’s exactly what I needed during this time and I honestly can’t wait to do it again😀 #Marathonrunner #marathoner #Virtualrace #DiverseRunnersworld https://www.instagram.com/p/CH_rUrGngC1/?igshid=y9qxfhyed37p
Training Log: February 17 to 23
Hello all! After a busy couple weeks, I didn’t have much time to post my updates, so it’s good to be back.
Lots of good news this week! Fully phased out the crutches, improved my leg strength, and got cleared for running by my PT. I’m going to be on a program for the next three weeks that takes me from 1 min run/1 min walk intervals all the way up to 30 minutes running nonstop.
My mobility and walking is fine, and I have no problems with running, though I notice my range of motion isn’t quite back at 100% in my ankle and I have a bit of swelling and irritation in my peroneal tendons still, so that’s something I’m keeping an eye on!
Monday, February 17: Rest Day
Taking it easy for a day! I introduced some elliptical work the couple weeks prior, so it was a bit of an adjustment for my body, but it was nice to do something with similar mechanics to running. Also finally fully phased out the crutches!
Tuesday, February 18: Slowly progressing back into running! 5 x (1 min run, 1 min walk) with a warm up and cool down walk + strength training and core
After a very successful PT appointment, I went on the treadmill for my first run back! Sorta! I’ll be doing run/walk progressions over the next three weeks until I get back to running a continuous 30 minutes.
This went great, though! I definitely noticed my peroneal tendons are still a bit tight, and they felt very tender when I was rolling out, but otherwise fine. Been icing and taping a lot :)
Wednesday, February 19: 6 x (1 min run, 1 min walk) + strength training and foam roller torture
One more interval added to the mix, all feeling about the same :)
Thursday, February 20: Rest Day
Had an ethics seminar all day so I didn’t get to work out!
Friday, February 21: 7 x (1 min run, 1 min walk) + strength training and stretching/rolling
Woo, back to the treadmill! Everything’s still feeling great, the running is getting slowly easier, so I amped up the pace a bit. Hoping to get my running intervals down to my marathon pace goal for the summer, so 4:45/km, or 7:38/mi.
Saturday, February 22: 8 x (1 min run, 1 min walk) + strength training and stretching/rolling
Everything still feels good, honestly a bit stagnant just adding one repeat at a time. Also I used the massage therapy gun at work beforehand and DAMN that thing is magic.
Sunday, February 23: 30 minutes of (1 min run, 1 min walk) repeats + mild leg strengthening and stretching
Woo, up to 30 minutes! Everything feels good, but I do have some tenderness on my peroneal tendons still (only when I massage). Looking forward to increasing that run interval next week!
Progress baby, progress.
