He covered her mouth with his hand in the early morning light. No one else was up yet but if she got any louder there was no doubt in Luke’s mind people would start waking up. He didn’t mean to start this either. He did not wake up at six am humping her leg thinking, ‘yup we’re doing it right now’ but when she sleepily opened her eyes and planted a kiss on him there was no turning back. Em’s kisses were like drugs for him. They were married, there was nothing wrong with sleepy sunday morning sex, he told himself as she straddled his lap and let her move. Too caught in the moment to even bother taking their clothes off, he pulled her forward for a deep kiss as he groaned, “So close. Love you.”

Beck was surprised at her words. How could she be what’s wrong? Their relationship might have been something other people would frown upon, but it had worked for them this long. What on Earth had changed? “Don’t be ridiculous” he said, his eyebrows knitting together in frustration at seeing her with tears in her eyes. “You’re amazing, you know that?” He wouldn’t have fallen for her if she wasn’t. He’d come to care about her, more than he cared to admit to either of them. Even knowing they could never be a real couple because of her boyfriend, he kept coming back for more. But when she finally told him the truth, he felt a rush of air into his lungs as he gasped in surprise. His first thought was that she wanted to end things because she knew that her boyfriend was the father and she couldn’t bring herself to be with Beck anymore. So her next words shocked him even more. When he could speak, he said “You’re pregnant? Are you sure?” Sometimes those tests weren’t correct. But he suspected they wouldn’t be having this conversation if she wasn’t absolutely certain.
