“LAUGHING SOUND” is the riffy new single & lead track from MARBLED EYE’s debut LP titled ‘Leisure.’
The Oakland based quartet of M. Lucero, C. Natividad, A. Oswald, & A. Shen create nervously shaded post-punk, the kind that infuses taut hooks alongside frayed six-string workouts.
Marbled Eye bring an equal dose of hardcore aesthetic to their brand of damaged art-punk, not unlike fellow bummers Institute.
“Laughing Sound” is littered with riffed out goodness, as guitars ping on the verge of snapping while a chugging rhythm powers the engine. Vocal yelps ride above the chaos adding a deadpan, but no less moving, balance to the raw proceedings making for snappy opening statement.
