A (very long) deep dive into the AU after the cut:
For this deep dive, I'll be dividing it into sections: General (setting and such) and Each Character (what's going on with them?). For the Character Section I'll go in alphabetical order because I love organizing stuff like that, jaja
General
This AU takes place in the Fall / Autumn, hence the clothes. It would be a few months after the events of Peachyville (In my head, the season takes place in the Spring around late April / early May, so this AU would be around September-November) when everyone has gotten situated into a close-to-normal routine (I'll expand more on that once I go from character to character).
In this AU, I'm also borrowing Will's plan of what would've happened if they won, which is that nobody but the Guttural Scream and CO (except Tyrus) remember all the eldritchy stuff that happened. However, this AU takes place BEFORE the Mothpeople come to ask them if they want to go with them (in my head that happens in the Winter, around February... also in the canonical finale that's the timeline in my head)
Oh, and the "Everyone Lives" title only applies to Guttural Scream and CO, all the antagonists that died during the season are also dead in this AU since it's a hypothetical of "the whole podcast is the same, but they save the world without sacrificing anyone they love".
Okay, that's about it. Time for the characters !
Britannica "BB" Blue
Our favorite kid detective! Just like in canon, BB and Milton have created a small detective agency of their own, although they do look into cosmic happenings and especially why nobody seems to remember what happened, they also dabble in everyday mysteries and even get a bit of money from it! Apart from Milton, BB has gotten closer to Blake and involves him in any mysteries that require some handiness to solve. It took time for her to approach the other members of Guttural Scream again after learning... everything they did, but bowling truly brings people together, and she is more open to them, just not as much as before.
Milton is her best friend, they're always together wherever they go. If you need one, just ask for the other; they're a package.
Blake Lively & Marbles
Blake, canonical horse boy and his son Marbles. Who knew dodging a 4-tentacle attack was so easy? Especially when you have a sort of magical cat hiding in your shirt who loves you so much it used it's whimsical powers to save you.
Blake lived with BB and her parents while he got a house of his own with the insurance money obtained from his burnt up mansions. This caused Blake and BB to grow closer, to the point that BB managed to convince Blake to buy a house in the same street as everyone so they could all be close together. Blake now is newly moved-in to his own home after requesting some renovations and making sure said renovations were top notch quality (yes, he added 2 more bathrooms and a toilet in every bedroom, which are two). His house is bigger than the other houses on the street, but not as big as his mansion. He even reserved a room just for Marbles, but he counts the litter box as the toilet so there isn't a toilet there.
Despite Tony being alive and well, he still bowls with the Gutteral Scream and is an honorary member who competes whenever one of the other members is out for the count. Like mentioned beforehand, he also helps out BB and Milton on mysteries where his handiness is needed and has even grown fond of the two. He is still a plumber, of course, and nowadays gets more customers than before thanks to Kelsey suggesting he should put up flyers in public spaces like the Library and parks. Overall, he's living a pretty comfortable life and always takes a moment every morning to talk to Amberster through a small memorial he has in his home with two golden guns lovingly in display.
Francis Farnsworth
The poor boy Francis. While escaping from Mother by convincing her to consume his dad instead, Francis lost the robotic leg John, Kelsey's brother, made for him, so now he mostly moves around with the help of a crutch. With seemingly nowhere to go, Francis planned on living on his own in his desolate home, but Trudy offered him to stay with her and Timmy. Francis refused, however, because he felt her and Timmy needed time alone and didn't think Timmy would enjoy his company (he didn't say any of this to Trudy, though). As a result, Kelsey approached Francis and invited him to live with her, and Francis accepted. Although the space was small, Kelsey managed to move things around to make space for a bed for Francis, who insisted on living in the backhouse instead of the main one like Roz, Kelsey's sister, had suggested.
Francis did tell Shane about the leg incident and his father's death, but left out that it was Kelsey's doing. Shane promised vengeance, yet Kelsey managed to talk him out of it.
Francis still goes bowling with the Gutteral Screams, but whenever there's a competition, he gives his spot to Blake... or he tries to, but Blake always insists that he bowl instead. He had to get acostumed to bowling with only one leg, but by now he has a bit of a method and Blake is his biggest support (figuratively and literally). Francis still feels a lot of guilt, from missing his parents despite knowing they were bad people to hurting his friends emotionally in different ways, but he is starting to learn to forgive himself and, most importantly, to live and enjoy the little things in life, one step at a time.
Kelsey Grammar
Kelsey, a schoolmarm then and a schoolmarm now. After they saved the world and Brian's death, Kelsey wished she could've taken over the Library, but her teacher duties deterred her and now the Library is run by someone else, but Kelsey definitely trusts them more than Brian.
Kelsey has felt infinetly less lonely ever since Francis moved in with her, and is very happy to have him around. She has even managed to convince him to start reading as a hobby and have their own two-person book club. Kelsey has also continued with her encyclopedia, and is up to M thanks to her friends helping her out with defining some words that they had knowledge of. She still bowls with the Gutteral Scream, of course, and even visits Trudy and Timmy on the weekends, where she always stays for dinner at Trudy's insistence.
Kelsey still wears the bracelet John left for her. They still have the same charms as before, and despite it not really having much use to her now and how hurt she was by her brother not checking up on her when he had infinite time, she still deeply love and cares for her brother and refuses to let go of the bracelet. She never told Roz about John, especially after finding out Roz was one of the many people who forgot about all the eldritch things that ocurred, and Kelsey truly believes it's for the best.
She's also kind of sort of maybe realizing her feelings for Trudy are more than just platonic, but she tries not to dwell on it too much... unsuccesfully.
Milton Earl
Dear Milton... like mentioned in BB's section, he and BB have a small detective agency where they solve everyday mysteries and try to uncover the secret of why nobody but Guttural Scream and CO remember all the eldritch events. Milton, like BB, has grown close to Blake with him tagging along in the mysteries where his services are needed. His favorite thing about Blake is Marbles, petting him is calming for Milton. Unlike BB, Milton wasn't too deterred from the other Guttural Scream thanks to him still having a lot of love for Kelsey, who in turn is more open with him. For the same reason, Milton is also much friendlier with Francis, even inviting him to a few mysteries, but Francis always refuses to tag along.
He is still blind, of course, but he is very close to being able to read Braille fluently. Although his parents have bought him a white cane, he frequently forgets it at home because BB always comes to pick him up and guides him.
Timmy Trout
Timmy is complex. Although he is much closer to Trudy, and they've both grown comfortable as a family, pieces of his dad still live within him. In fact, Timmy knows a lot about robotics and mechanics thanks to his dad who taught him since very young, and Timmy hates to admit he enjoys it. Although, he does find more passion in literature and philosophy which his dad did not care for so he spends more time on that.
Thanks to Kelsey, Timmy actually goes to school now, but he is struggling to keep up with his peers in a couple of subjects, so Kelsey tutors him on the weekends. On the other hand, Timmy still doesn't like Francis very much, hence Francis' living situation, but is starting to be neutral about him because Kelsey brings Francis to the tutoring sessions and Trudy is more than happy to welcome him to their home.
Tony Collette
The one and only Tony Collette. Here's the gist (and buckle up, this is a long one), when The Bisons tried to sacrifice him to Mother, Tony got miraculously lucky and managed to make it to the elevator and get out. However, he passed out the moment he got in from exhaustion and pain which let Dr. Mann, who got in the elevator as well, to presume he was dead. And so, Dr. Mann took Tony's body and just left it in the woods outside the lab. When Tony awoke, he genuinely had no idea how he would get home or even find his friends, especially with his broken legs which are even more damaged from Dr. Mann carelessly flinging him into the ground. So, all he could do was crawl until he found a road he could follow. When he got tired of crawling, he decided to try walking, what could go wrong? Well... his luck had pretty much run out at that point, so his legs gave out instantly, and he got pretty hurt again. Thankfully, he was close to town by this point and someone heard him scream and ran over to check on him. Tony could not handle the pain and passed out again before he could see who came to him. When Tony woke up, he was now in a bed, his legs bandaged up and propped up with two pillows. He didn't recognize the room he was in, but he knew he'd have to owe his life, almost literally, to whoever it belonged to. The door to the room opened and in came Tyrus, Tony's neighbor. Tony was shocked, but so grateful, he started crying like he did back at the hospital when Kelsey came to check on him and started apologizing pitiful-Tony style for being so rude in the past. Tyrus was very overwhelmed and confused by this new Tony, but accepted the apology nonetheless. After this, Tony spent days in bed letting his legs recover while Tyrus took care of him to the best of his abilities, and neither would say it, but they both had a feeling Tony might not be able to walk again.
On the day Tyrus almost got kidnapped, he ran back home and started packing his two suitcases, one for himself and one for Tony. When Tony saw him packing, he asked what was going on and Tyrus explained everything, even how Kelsey and the others told him to get out of town for a week for his own safety. Tony was happy to hear his bowling team seemed to be okay, but was upset about Tyrus leaving, since he thought Tyrus would leave by himself. It wasn't until Tyrus came back to his room after putting their suitcases in his car to help Tony move to it, did Tony realize ditching town also counted for him.
While out of town, Tyrus got Tony into a hospital, reassuring Tony that since they were out of Peachyville, there was less danger of The Bisons finding them. From there, Tony got his very own wheelchair and managed to properly heal his legs. Although he can walk, it takes a lot of effort and pain to do so, which leads to his wheelchair being his main mode of transportation. Due to this, it takes a lot longer for both Tony and Tyrus to return to Peachyville, and although one night Tyrus suddenly didn't recall anything about eldritch beings, he and Tony inevitably bonded to the point where Tyrus invited Tony to stay at his house and even help around the Chinese restaurant if he wished.
Once they were back in Peachyville, Tony reunited with his bowling team, who were surprised to see him alive and well, but happy nonetheless. Now, Tony and the bowling team meet up once a week to bowl and Tony has started getting used to bowling in his wheelchair and isn't throwing as many gutter balls (which is also an improvement from before he got in a wheelchair). Tony also took up Tyrus' offer to stay in his house and help out in the restaurant, essentially leaving behind his rental car business, selling the lot to someone else who took up the business in his place. In the restaurant, Tony mainly manages the cash register and is unafraid to cuss out rude customers.
Trudy Trout
My favorite, Trudy. Those 30 seconds it took for the knife to pierce the hole in the sky were agonizing, but the moment she realized it worked, she couldn't help but burst into tears. The next day, Trudy travelled close to where the hole had formed with the help of the rest of the Guttural Scream and cast the Elder Sign spell to hopefully stop anymore eldritch entities from entering their world. Whether it worked or not is unknown to them.
It took a while, but eventually Trudy managed to buy a new house for her and Timmy to live in, with two guest rooms in case any of her friends needed a place to stay. During the time they were house-hunting, they stayed with Roz in her basement and Trudy grew to like Milton. Trudy also agreed to enroll Timmy to school, and even started participating in helping with the school plays at Kelsey's suggestion and support. Even though she wishes Francis had agreed to live with her, she also understands why he denied doing so and is happy she can feed him and Kelsey on the weekends.
She still bowls, of course, but her new spidery body was causing her a lot of trouble and not helping her fit in with the population that forgot about all the eldritch happenings. Timmy noticed this and proposed making Trudy a new body, one she could have complete control over it's functionality and appearance. Trudy happily agreed and even shed a tear at the thought of Timmy making something for her. Timmy started working on her new body while they lived in Roz's basement and finished it just in time for it to count as a gift celebrating 2 months since they moved in to their new home. Once Trudy's head was attached to her new body and tested it out feeling more like herself than she ever had, Timmy revealed he didn't work on it alone. Both Kelsey and Blake had helped him with more complex parts and getting materials so Timmy could focus on the more code-related aspects. That weekend, Trudy showed off her new body to Kelsey and Francis and thanked Kelsey with a specially made homecooked apple pie. That same weekend, Kelsey cut and styled Trudy's hair to get rid of all the burnt bits and help her start anew. The next bowling meetup, Trudy thanked Blake by inviting him to their new home to check out their toilets and plumbing to his liking.
Trudy still struggles with insecurity on being a good mother for Timmy, but the fact they can both sit alone on the dining table and talk casually and comfortably makes her feel more at ease.
Although, with this now peaceful life with no Tucker looming over her head and Mothman's death properly mourned over, Trudy is starting to realize that she would love it if Kelsey ate dinner at their home everyday, and maybe even breakfast and lunch too... what could that mean?
Tyrus Luo
Who is Tyrus, and why is he here? Funny story, he is a very late addition to the AU and is only here because while showering I had an idea and thought it was really funny (which you know now since Tony's section was before this one). As a refresher, Tyrus is Tony's Taiwanese neighbor and owner of the Chinese restaurant adjacent to Tony's car rental lot. We meet him in the first episode and after the Library arc when the Guttural Scream save him from being kidnapped by The Bisons and, in turn, he gives them food and the lock they use on Brunhilde.
Now to the AU:
Tyrus has grown close to the Guttural Scream thanks to Tony (hard not to, considering he wasn't close to anyone beforehand), but he is one of many that don't remember any of the horrors that happened and believes that all events connected to that were either just a weird cult's actions or unfortunate, but logical, accidents. Tony tried for a week to "make him remember", but it didn't work. Because of this, BB and Milton have been prodding him a lot and Tyrus is always happy to help, albeit confused and thinking it's just kids playing pretend. Apart from that, his life is pretty much the same. His restaurant is still doing decently enough, and he has Tony for company, although now it's a more pleasant company since they don't "hate" each other anymore, but they do still fight from time to time over the littlest things just for the fun of it (even if neither of them would admit it).
Crazy to say, but as a headcanon for my AU (yes, I know how that sounds, but trust me) Tony and Tyrus have a will-they-won't-they situationship going on and everybody but them knows it.
Closing Thoughts
Sorry this is so long, and thank you if you read all of this !! (and sorry if anything I wrote seems out of character... I tried my best !)
Like I mentioned above, I plan on drawing this AU a lot more because I love these characters so much, I can't let them go jajajaj
Feel free to send me asks for any queries or talk to me on my other socials about this AU and even sharing your own headcanons! I'm still building this as much as I can... and, of course, feel free to draw, write, whatever stuff for this AU if you enjoyed it (and share it with me pleaseeee)
Okay, that's all... I've yapped for too long. Happy Holidays !!
