Did you play with marbles as a child?
I never did but I admired my brother’s marble collection, wondering at the different swirls of colour within the shiny spheres! So when the member organising one of the Eddisbury Artists evenings I attend brought some geology specimens, fossils and some marbles for us to draw or paint, I had to choose the marbles!
The A4 unframed original watercolour is available for £55 including UK postage (or framed for £75 if you live close enough for me to deliver). Please just private message me to make your purchase.
It’s also available as prints and printed on all sorts of lovely things on Redbubble at:
“Glass Marbles” is a watercolour sketch I created on the last Thursday of February 2025, at a meeting of Eddisbury Artists (https://eddisbur

Marbles Game vs Marble Racing: A Surprising Showdown Between Tradition and Speed
The Classic Charm of Marbles Game
When people think of the Marbles Game, childhood memories often come flooding back—kids sitting in a circle, flicking shiny glass marbles with intense focus and a touch of mischief. It’s a simple game, yet it requires real skill, patience, and a little bit of strategy. More than just fun, it’s a nostalgic connection to a simpler time filled with laughter and friendly competition.
Marble Racing: Fast, Fierce, and Addictively Fun
Unlike the calm, strategic nature of the classic game, Marble Racing is all about speed, chaos, and suspense. Marbles zoom down elaborate tracks, dodging obstacles, spinning through loops, and racing to the finish line while a commentator brings the action to life. It’s oddly thrilling and surprisingly emotional—you’ll find yourself rooting for your favorite marble like it’s a real sports star.
Marbles Game vs Marble Racing – Which Should You Try?
Honestly, why not both? If you’re in the mood for hands-on play, some throwback fun, and a chance to show off your flicking skills, the traditional marbles game is perfect. But if you’re looking for pure entertainment, unpredictable outcomes, and edge-of-your-seat excitement, Marbles Game vs Marble Racing is a comparison worth exploring—because both styles offer a different kind of joy.
The Modern Marble Scene Is Booming
In today’s digital world, both games have evolved into global communities. Marble Racing, in particular, has taken off with millions of fans following races online. Platforms like marblesport offer everything from race schedules and standings to highlight videos and marble stats, making it the go-to hub for marble enthusiasts around the world.

So lately I’d been stressed trying to come up a way to color that was my own. I forgot I had made a colored pencil brush several months ago.
Marla. Trying out some more inking and coloring.
