This is good but there’s a mistake; Voltron can form the sword without Keith, it’s just Shiro isn’t shown using it without Keith on the team. (A v brief scene in S4E5 shows Voltron with sword in hand)

Hmm, this is curious. I rewatched the episode and there is a very brief scene at 18:56 that’s footage of Voltron flying while holding the sword. What is very strange about this however is the sword is never USED in combat; the Naxzela attack is pretty much handled with the green/red lion blasters and Hunk’s cannon.  Which makes me wonder if they used some Voltron stock footage by accident. Especially since even the characters reference using Hunk’s weaponry over the sword ( around 3 minutes in to the same episode, Lance specifically says they’re going to attack with Hunk’s shoulder cannon, despite the fact that the sword has always been their first weapon in at least 80% of the battles whereas the shoulder cannon is rarely used). I’m not sure this counts as conclusive evidence that Shiro, Pidge, Lance, or Allura can summon a sword bayard, especially since a sword does not match the personal bayard forms Pidge, Lance and Allura take, and the writing team has been very deliberately avoiding showing us what Shiro’s bayard form might take. Good eye, though!
