#MarchMeetTheMaker Day 18: Sell yourself This prompt is my worst nightmare but here goes! I am Zoe the Zo bit of Zo, Knit & Sew and I knit & Sew! I adapted my logo from one on Canva as I thought it looked like patchwork squares which was fitting for Knitting & Sewing and then added my name, nothing fussy, very much like me. I like to make practical items that have a use. My business name was going to be "Zo's knitting and sewing" but it was too long for an Etsy shop name and too long for an e mail address so I shortened it and although it's a bit naff it describes what's in the tin😆 I started selling a few bits originally at our local craft fair (see poster for upcoming event) and still do but started my business with a shop on Etsy and later joined the Folksy family of British sellers (Link in bio) During lockdown my daughter helped me set up a website zoknitandsew.weebly.com where I showcase my products and add events and I have a widget that shows a shop front of my folksy shop. I prefer in person events where I can talk to customers about my products but my pet hate is when people say "oh, we have no babies to buy for now" as clearly they are using it as an excuse not to buy, I am not offended if you don't want to buy anything but please don't say anything. I make bags and gifts too but people just seem to notice "babies stuff"! I always think my stall looks like a jumble sale as I have been told I make too many different lines but everything branches out from my original plan around "family" products, but the baby items have proven the most popular.
