This is essentially why I think Holmes and Moran behave in the way they do towards each other, because they understand each other, because in some ways they are very alike.
Why would a wealthy man who seems to have everything bother to assassinate a man too poor for stockings? Inspectors Gregson and Lestrade could explain, but Gregson is mysteriously placed into custody of the Foreign Office, and Lestrade has vanished without a trace. The only clues are in the details of a strange archaeological discovery involving the three men: a half-melted Celtic wolf found in the bottom of a Roman Well.
I’m still writing, folks...but I’m also trying to see if my developing cataracts require a sea-change of my art style. We shall see...!

So, yes. I feel good about this. Now, let me give you some advice if you are EVER in this situation, or at risk of it (basically, any fanfic with weak copyright)
1) Fanfiction reverts to First Rights Only. You don’t have to mention that.
2) Fanfiction nearly ALWAYS has a creation of your own. I don’t care if you wrote about the hotel barkeep, the cleaning lady, or a city that didn’t exist but should. If it came out of your mind, then by all means, emphasize to Amazon that this theft includes your original creation.
That’s what I did.
3) When posting fanfic, make sure you put that clear and out in the open. This used to be more common back in the day. Such as “Toby Irish is my own creation” was on my fanfiction.net intro paragraph.
4) Closing with the blessing: “May all who wronged you be usefully stupid.”

I am *really* not happy. Yes I filed a complaint with Amazon, but I can’t file a complaint with Goodreads (can’t find out where!!) and I’m just...furious. Angry. Hurt, betrayed, and pulling my work off ff.net. Because...what choice do I have? David Marcum (MX Publishing) was the one who tipped me off. If anyone suspects their work is being pirated off the fan fiction sites, PLEASE check it out. Don’t search with your name, but by sample cut/pasting and topics.
If you see my work out there and the name is NOT Aragonite, M.A. Wilson, Marcia A Wilson, Spirit Level, or Aragonitemoved, then let me know, and report the suspected theft.
Going to bed early. I have been having serious health issues and this didn’t help. One minute.
It was smaller than a quail and shy, despite a ferocious hunger for the worms in the soft black muck. Half my photos were useless--I was shaking from excitement and the effort to hold still and not frighten the tiny bird.
Before common sense kicked me in the head (purely to save me), I thought the title might be, ‘Snipingly, the Sniper Sniped the Snipes Guttersniping”
Oh, the Flett wetlands. Daily do you show me something new.
Tiniest and cutest of the North American ducks, the Bufflehead is also the fastest in flight and the most antisocial.
Because all that cute is a burden.
Time gets circular when you study the outdoors--seasonal events repeat themselves. I was in the Flett trying to nab more photos of the increasingly-paranoid snipes, and the sudden upswing in our native hummingbirds as they took advantage of the late-season jewelweed blooms.
