Lets face it, this would've happened whether Marco left for mewni at fifteen or went off to college at eighteen. His parents just could not really let go of him. Marco Jr is not Marcos brother, he's Marco's replacement. Angie and Rafael seem like good people, but there have been moments in the show where they come across as more selfish over their own child's well being season 1: let's keep laser puppy dogs Let's agree to go into forest of certain death Gee, we have no idea where Marco is.....OH NO WE HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MARCO IS Season 2: Marco fix whatever problem you have with heinous soon, we want to make new friends Still had no idea where their son is Season 3: Sure you can go How dare you go I guess maybe in some ways they feel that their next son will be like a second chance to do all the things they wish they had done for Marco. I don't know. But it was clear, they only are having this kid because they miss Marco. But Marcos brother will grow up knowing he is only around to fill the shoes of a kid he could never be
